Very Fine Japanese Wakizashi Samurai Sword, Signed with Papers, in very good condition. The paperwork with this sword appears to indicate this was certified by the Japanese Art Preservation Association as a selected historical preservation piece. The makers mark appears to say Kobayashi. Kobayshi Kuniteru was a famous sword maker in the Osaka area in the late 1600's. There is a second signature with a date that appears to indicate Miayamoto Kuramasa, indicating it was possibly reworked in February 1855. We have included pictures of the documentation written in Japanese for independent examination as we have no way to definitively verify the translation. This sword maintains a beautiful polish and active temper line and is presented in a resting case. This item measures 30" from tip to hilt. (9)
