Lot # 17 Hjorth micrometer depth gauges, 2 sizes, new in box.Hjorth Lathe & Tool Co. apparently bought out Remington Tool & Machine Co. since both names are on the body, the first stamped into the surface and the second cast into the body. Both from Boston. Patent Pending. ca. 1910s. There are two sizes of the tool, No. 1 at 3¾" and No. 2 at 6¾", each in its own box with directions. The precision instrument is used for gauging dimensions quickly and accurately. The micrometer nut controls movement of the rod in increments of 1/1000 of an inch. Both gauges are MINT in the box, with the smaller box having a water stain on one end. ($50-120).
