Original reddish orange plastic grips also marked with imprinted “Gene Autry” signature.This is the RARE long barrel Gene with the early style hammer and polished nickel finish. Has never fired caps (and never will – it’s a dummy!). Dummy cap guns were produced by gun manufacturers in small numbers to be sold in states and cities that classified caps as “fireworks” and forbid their sale. Minor wear to signatures on grips. This 8"" single shot-single action pistol is marked ""Mordt"" in an oval circle above both grips. Designed to fire Mammoth caps & ""darts"". There is a platform inside the barrel and pushing on it with an object when the hammer is cocked makes a small piece of metal protrude out of the anvil. The mechanism still appears to be functional. No darts are included. Fired but in original condition with beautiful celluloid (early plastic) grip inserts. Minor loss to original painted finish. C7/Fine condition.

May have been fired but shows no pitting around hammer or between triggers. Functions well. Hammer spur has been professionally repaired (almost invisible). All rivets and finish appear original. Overall, C7/Fine condition.
