Red Fiesta Ware Cups Lot #35 (Sale Order 34 of 504) Two cups. This lot and those that follow are believed to be the original Red Fiesta produced using natural uranium, circa 1936-1943. The family used these dishes at their cabin, which was acquired shortly after the father's Steel Company in Radford, VA was contracted to produce steel for the War. During WWII, the U.S governmnet restricted the use of uranium oxide, which gave Fieta Red its color. This restriction was not lifted until 1959. Though the company then used a different formulation for the Red glaze, people were concerned and the color never caught on again. Folks also discarded the earlier pieces, making them very collectible in today's market. THIS LOT IS TIMES THE MONEY. Auctioneer's note: Vintage Pottery of any type should never be microwaved and avoid storing food in any vintage pieces. (Warman's Fiesta Ware, Mark. F. Moran, Krause Publications 2004).

Vintage Washing Machine OR NOT Lot #236 (Sale Order 227 of 504) Yellow Pine Barrel with brass strapping. On a nice black metal stand. No rust to speak of, missing plug, but a corn cob will work nicely. Nice Southern Piece here folks. Auctioneer's note: I've gotten a couple of emails on this one, saying its a butter churn from about 1880, possibly by Davis Co. Now when I first saw it, I identified it as a butter churn. Then I showed my mentor a pic, and he said it was a washing machine. So what is it? That's the great thing about being the high bidder, you then become entitled to call it whatever you want it to be. I'm leaning towards churn.

Miracle Brush and Ostrich Feather Duster Lot #1552 (Sale Order 465 of 504) I know you are thinking no way they have a Miracle Brush in the original box, but we do. In case you never had one of these like I did, it is reversible. You brush it one way and it takes the lint off your clothes or whatever then you brush it the opposite way on any nearby family member and it cleans the lint right back out of it. Actually the brush part flips around so that a right handed or left handed person can use it with ease. Now the Junior 'Flip-up' Genuine Ostrich Feather Duster is still in its box too. Stop reading my silliness and start bidding, this is great stuff. ~Lisa

Happy Home Needle Book, Electric Scissors, E-Z Stitcher and a 6 inch Rule Lot #1554 (Sale Order 467 of 504) Happy Home Needle Book says it has 21 Assorted nickel plated rust proof silver eye needles but it doesn't. 14 needles and one threader are left, nice little needle book. Electric Scissors are marked The Grant Co. Model S-100. I plugged this up and it works. E-Z Stitcher in the box with instructions. The box says it holds a complete spool of thread so you don't need to re-thread. The 6 inch rule appears to be made of smooth coated cardboard and says Alfred L. Blake & Sons, Inc. Realtors Richmond VA phone MI 8-8303 and on the same side it says Invest in Port Charlotte, FLA 80' X 125' Lot Only $895 $10 Down- $10 Per Month. Hmm. Black Americana Salt and Pepper Lot #1594 (Sale Order 499 of 504) Black Americana Salt and Pepper both bottom corks are included. It was a little pair of S/P similar to these that turned me on to auctions. I was eight years old and rode my bike to an estate auction near my home. I bid on a pair of S/P and won them. I was so excited. The auctioneer asked the elderly lady sitting next to me for her bidder number...rut ro, I wasn't sure what I did wrong, but I knew the auctioneer was upset with me. I had to go get my mom and everything! I don't know whatever became of that little set, but my love of auctions was born that day. I hope you've enjoyed our auction. Be Blessed ~ Pip
