Below is a large molding carved with leaf carved corners. The bookcase section has 3 adjustable shelves and 2 beveled glass doors featuring a silver banded ivy leaf and berry pattern. On either side of the doors are vertical fish scale moldings with leaf carvings at the top cornice. Either side of the slant front desk has leaf and berry carvings over figural lions heads with scrolled bases. The lid features a burled panel in the center, which drops forward as the writing surface. The inside is complete with a satinwood interior and a 6 section compartment over 3 drawers on the right and a built in safe on the left. The pulls inside the gallery are molded with grape vines and show a brown patina with gilt. The base shows a single carved drawer over 2 doors, which are carved with north wind faces, drapery and fruit. The locks are signed g. Bayer, pat. Feb. 6, 1872. Tiffany studios 22" banded dogwood floral table lamp on american indian bronze base. The leaded glass shade shows a geometric pattern throughout which is created by green and white striated glass cut to small quadrangular pieces. This pattern is shown in 8 rows from the aperture of the shade and 3 rows from the bottom rim. The dogwood floral pattern is featured in a banded border, stretching into the 8th geometric row from the top and the 3rd geometric row from the bottom. Each of the flowers consists of 4 pieces of opaque mottled glass depicting the petals and a 5th yellow piece in the centers. Surrounding the flowers within this border are large green leaves, showing some gray striations, and brown translucent branches, visible in 3 places. The aperture of the shade is 5" in diameter and the shade is 8. 5" high. The lower rim, which is 22" in diameter, is edged with a 1/2" heavy bronze border. The top of the lamp shows a reticulated spun bronze heat cap with a teardrop finial, which sits over the shade. The underside shows 4 reinforcement ribs running from the border to the aperture and is also signed on the metal tag "tiffany studio's new york". The bronze base is in the american indian pattern; it shows a very nice dark brown patina. The platform of the base is 11. 5" in diameter. It is molded with squares and rectangles in a linear pattern. Moving up the stem is a long fluted section with a band of more scattered squares above and below. The spherical light cluster consists of swirling arms reaching out to 3 original louvered paddle sockets by perkins. Mounted to the top of the cluster is a riser with a 5" wheel, on which the shade sits. The base is signed on the bottom plate "tiffany studios new york 529". Shade 22" diameter x 30"h. The shade shows a staggered geometric pattern running from the top down to the border, formed in green and white striated glass with a lightly mottled surface. Ending the domical curve of the shade is a geometric border, in the same quadrangular glass, showing a smaller geometric pattern under a border of 48 stylized diamonds in a single row, depicted a slightly translucent deep green. The lower border shows the strait panel main curtain pattern. It is shown in this same striated, slightly translucent glass, cut into 3 1/8" long pieces. The bottom rim is fitted with a 5/8" thick bronze border. The under side is fitted with 6 vertical reinforcement ribs, very common in tiffany's larger shades, and the signature is on two metal tags, tiffany studios - new york. The original tiffany shade is topped with a large reticulated dome heat cap with a long pigtail finial. The shade sits on a standard floor base. The base has a 16" round platform on 4 feet, it is molded with stylized leaves which taper out to vertical ribs running up the stem. Pavel akimov ovchinnikov russian enameled silver bear inkwell. A wonderfully crafted piece by the well known silversmith pavel akimov ovchinnikov, moskow 1868, in 84 zol (875/1000) silver, this piece shows a large bear resting on its stomach, with its head on the left arm and rear legs splayed, sitting on top of polished flat lid. The bear shows great detail and proportion in the fur and ruby eyes. The lid on which the bear rests shows a blue enameled border and a beaded silver edge. Under the lid is a double inkwell, polished and clean and the signature is also found. Below, the two platforms are decorated in beaded enamel and stylized floral and geometric patterns in white and 3 tones of blue. The main border shows swirling leaves running into the geometric brick pattern above and below. Above and below the border shows a single row of brown rippled glass. The lower shade shows a smaller form, 14" in diameter with a 4 row brick border, it hangs inverted and is fitted with a gilt tassel finial. Shows the original Duffner & Kimberly hardware, fitted to the upper shade, showing 4 hook around the outer edge of the heat cap. Moving up each of these hooks is a long smooth shaft, leaf molded in the middle, connecting the shade to the ceiling cap. On the shaft is the light fixture which is adjustable by a single knurled setscrew in the back. The spherical portion of this cluster is mounted with a rope-twist coil front and back, this spherical cluster is the connection point for the oil coming from the main canister to the oil font. The canisters casing is highly decorated with a coiled border above a quadrangular midsection. The lower part tapers in. The top of the canister is covered in vertical and horizontal rope-twist strands with a single beaded section at the concave midsection. The top shows a single coil with 5 beads around the edge and 1 in the center. This original canister reads on the underside, "close the valve after filling". The font side of the lamp is attached with a long tube arm. The main shaft is wrapped in several rope-twist strands and one beaded strand. Above and below shows some reticulated sections. The "cased" damascene shade is bell shaped and is trumpeted at the top. It is iridescent green with vertical darker striations twisting around to the left. At the top of the shade, the ribbed striations are raised, tapering down to flush at the bottom rim. The shade sits on a 10" ring with a single twisted border. The shade is signed l.C.T. Favrile. Tiffany studios new york gold dore 3 light lily lamp. The bases platform is slightly concave on top and molded with stylized ribs running from the edge to the center. Above the platform is a small bulbous section from which 3 stems sprout. Moving up the wavy stems, they are tied near the top where they gently drape downward. At the ends of each stem is a porcelain socket, cased in a leafy fitter in which the shades hang. The ribbed lily formed shades are iridescent and show deep blues and greens with some hints of pink. Large painting 5 scenes of John Wayne directly from various movies, over a western scenic background. This very rare piece is the original 1/1. Signed lower right, Leighton-Jones . It was originally commissioned by Ted Turner, who owns full rights to it’s reproduction. The works was originally created for the John Wayne Archival Films, form Metro Goldwyn Meyer (MGM). Though Turner holds rights to the work, the artist Barry was allowed to keep the original, which was lost in an attic in London and then sold. This piece has come from its original owner who has the original documentation. Barry Leighton-Jones was born in London, a direct descendant of Lord Frederic Leighton. Leighton-Jones won his first art competition at the age of 5 and was later schooled by John Minton. Leighton-Jones’ work has been noticed by many important people; Ted Turner’s preference for Barry’s work has made him a lead candidate for promotional works (ads, banners, theater marques and commemorative pieces), not only John Wayne, but also for the 50th Anniversary releases of Gone With The Wind and The Wizard Of Oz. Barry is also the official artist for the world famous clown, Emmett Kelly. 27 original paintings and 25 original drawings have been completed for this collection.
