Item Details
This very rare US Springfield M-1898 Krag 22LR caliber single shot Gallery Practice Bolt Action Rifle is in good condition with 90% finish mixed with heavy patina. The stock is very nice, but unfortunately the forestock has been replaced from the barrel band forward (probably sporterized at one time and restored). The stock is correctly cartouched for a production Gallery Practice Krag, not a conversion. Bore is a bit dark, but rifling is very good and would improve with a good cleaning. Only 841 of these were produced and Fladermans Antique Firearms Guide lists them as high as $5,000. Here’s an opportunity to pick up a highly collectible Krag and you can decide the price you’re willing to buy.
