Overview of WW2 German Police Long Bayonet with Scabbard

Item Details

Produced by Alexander Coppel this example has matching serial numbers. The blade is above average with some age wear to the tip and minor dings. The plating is nearly 100% intact with only a bit of corrosion to the tip. This is a double marked blade with the trademark ACS and scales on the obverse and Alexander Coppel Solingen on the reverse. The grip is stag with a nice Police Eagle centered. The plated pommel and crossguard has minimal wear to the high points. The crossgaurd is stamped LAr. 345. The same is stamped to the scabbard. The scabbard is brown leather. The frog is also brown leather and both show honest wear. The portapee is the black leather type with triple stitching with black, red, and white stitching. The ball is in average condition. Overall a very nice example. Estimate: $ 400-600
