Dyes employed are vegetal and display an earthy color pallet that has a deep red field with Deep blue and off white highlights. The design is typical and has two medallions with the scorpion motif in their middles. It is hoped that this scorpion motif will protect them from their bits as they tend to run into them in this region. The translation for Dosemealti is “under the floor” in Turkish. A combination of vegetal dyed wool used for the wool pile with goat’s hair (naturally coloration) wrapped on the selvage. This design with bands of brocade work in geometrical shapes that represent flowers and luck symbols is utilized to carry personal objects of these nomadic people. Appraised Value $362.00.
