According to Browning's serial number production chart, this SA-22 semi-automatic rifle was produced in 1974. SPECS: Glossed walnut stock with deep-cut outlined checkering & fluted comb, blued metal buttplate, stock fed tubular magazine, polished blued receiver & barrel finish, floral scroll receiver engravings with symmetrical outlined accents, 19.5" barrel with recessed crown, dovetailed folding leaf rear sight with adjustable insert and dovetailed brass bead front sight. CONDITION: This rifle is in beautiful condition with very light wear, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Browning SA-22, also known as the Browning 22 Semi-Auto rifle, was the companies first semi-automatic .22 caliber rifle. It is a quick "takedown design" in which the barrel can be quickly removed via a lever under the forearm and a half twist at the barrel collar. John Browning designed it in 1912, and production began in 1914. FN Herstal of Belgium was the first company to produce the SA-22. Production was interrupted by World War I & World War II, and it was officially imported to the United States for sales in 1956. From the beginning, the SA 22 was a high-end rifle. The receiver is forged steel, the relatively massive bolt is beautifully machined, and the stock is nicely finished from walnut. It is a svelte rifle, capable of being shot accurately by even a relatively young shooter, and it is a quick-takedown design that can be quickly taken apart for storage, transportation, and cleaning. After over 100 years of production, the Browning SA-22 rifle is still being produced today. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders. PLEASE READ ALL TERMS BEFORE PARTICIPATING: There is no live crowd, no phone bidding, no left bids and we do not accept payment through the mail.
