This Dan Wesson Model 44 Magnum/ Special Double-Action revolver is #640 of 1500 manufactured in 1989 to honor of the 200th Anniversary of the Second Amendment to the Constitution which ensures Americans of the right to keep and bear arms. SPECS: Polished blued finish with intricate scroll engravings on both sides of the barrel & frame, 24-Karat gold plated cylinder/sights/ejector rod/cylinder release/trigger/ hammer & grip screws, glossed smooth walnut grips with thumb rests & inlaid red Second Amendment medallion on the left side, 9.75" shrouded barrel with vent-rib barrel, DA/SA trigger, adjustable rear sight pinned to the channel, serrated ramp front sight with red insert, checkered hammer and 6-shot swing-out cylinder. CONDITION: This revolver will have some light finish flaking on the cylinder & front sight, otherwise this revolver is in beautiful condition, has a perfect sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Dan Wesson Model 44 is a .44 Magnum/Special revolver known for its large frame, interchangeable barrel/shroud system, and broached rifling. It was introduced in late 1980 by Dan Wesson after a three-year development period. The Model 44 was designed for both hunting and target shooting, particularly silhouette and metal plate competitions. The Model 44 was offered in 4", 6", 8" & 10" barrel lengths (4", 6", 8", 10") that could be easily switched out with a shroud, allowing for customization.
