This is a functioning Nippon Sharyo 76 seat rail car used by the city of Los Angeles for their Metro Rail. The rail car is operational and built in the 1980's. All the under carriages were refurbished in 2014 by the city of Los Angeles at the cost of over 6 million dollars. We have spoken with the train operators and maintenance crew and they have all said they think these trains are more superior to the new ones the city has started using.
