Hand Crank Wood Auger
Approximate Dimensions: 28" L X 18" W
See pictures for additional information.
Spiral T Auger
Approximate Dimensions: 52.5" L X 8" W
An auger used for digging post holes is called an earth auger, handheld power earth drill, soil auger, or mechanized post hole digger. This kind of auger can be a manually turned, handheld device, or powered by an electric motor or internal-combustion engine, possibly attached to a tractor (being provided with power by the tractor engine's power take-off as shown). Handheld augers can also be used for making holes for garden planting.
Wood augers have a screw to pull them into the wood, as a gimlet has, and a cutting lip that slices out the bottom of the hole. The auger bit, meant to be used in a brace, also has cutting spurs to cut a clean circle deeper than where the lips scrape out the wood.

A reamer is a type of rotary cutting tool used in metalworking. Precision reamers are designed to enlarge the size of a previously formed hole by a small amount but with a high degree of accuracy to leave smooth sides. There are also non-precision reamers which are used for more basic enlargement of holes or for removing burrs. The process of enlarging the hole is called reaming. There are many different types of reamer and they may be designed for use as a hand tool or in a machine tool, such as a milling machine or drill press.

Construction ? An oscillating tub type having a steel frame mounted upon an iron base and supporting in a horizontal position a semi-cylindrical copper tub tinned inside. The one-quarter horsepower General Electric motor is located at one corner of the under frame and drives by belting the gearing chains, etc., which operate the wringer and oscillate the tub. This machinery is covered. The swinging type reversible two-roll American wringer with safety release is supported over the tub. It occupies a floor space 28 inches square and measures 38 inches to top of tub and 56 inches to the top of the wringer.

Vintage Blacksmith Jaw Post Leg Vise
Estimated: late 1800s
Approximate Dimensions: 40" L X 18" W
The blacksmith leg vise or "solid box vise" is one of the most important tools in the blacksmiths shop. It firmly holds hot iron while it is hammered, chiseled or twisted. These are the only vise that is designed to take this kind of use day in and day out. A small 30 pound blacksmith's vise can survive pounding that would wreck a much heavier cast iron bench vise.
