* Christoph Funk Suhl, Hunting Field Grade, 16 ga, s/n 18977, shotgun, brl length 29.75", good condition, hammer back action, Christoph Funk once known as "The Mercedes in Gun Craftsmanship" was in business from 1835-1965 and has been credited for building some of "The Finest Hunting Weapons" with this example having a horn overlayed under lever with Damascus barrels having a concave rib bearing the mark "CHRISTOPH FUNK IN SUHL". Two small game birds adorn each lock plate as well as one located to the bottom of the triggerguard bow. Metal surfaces show some areas of browning with very little wear from handling present. The pistol grip walnut butt stock has a round grip knob showing faint checkering with a few small hairlines at the locks and a repair on the left side just under the lock as well as a cheek rest and rear sling swivel with some other light wear present.
