1979 Volkswagen Thing Type 181 in Light Blue paint. This was restored in 2021-2022. 1.6L Flat 4 (overhauled in 2022) with a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission. Equipped with electronic ignition, Bosch ignition coil, electric fuel pump, and a CB performance serpentine belt system. Clutch was replaced and dual exiting exhaust was also done in 2022. This vehicle does not have heat exchangers. Black vinyl bench seat interior. Black convertible top fits well. Riding on 14" steel wheels with Volkswagen wheel covers. Radial tires were replaced in 2021. Front disc conversion as well as master cylinder, brake hoses, brake shoes, front and rear torsion bars, tie rod ends, shocks, and shock mounts, and wheel bearings in 2022. Stripped down to bare metal during resto. Originally a Mexican produced model. Repainted and reupholstered at that time. Removable doors! Rubber floor mats, fender mounted turn signals, and fold down front windshield! Side curtains are included with purchase. Aftermarket speaker added behind the rear seat. Pile head unit in the glovebox that has yet to be installed. The heater was not completed either.
