Contemporary Knight Armor Suit Display

Lot # 2000 (Sale Order: 2 of 647)      

A contemporary set of knight's plate armor on an armor stand, complete with sword and banners. Plate armor has some oxidation and patina with heavy patina on back. Sword ...moreis marked "Carlos V" on cross guard and one side of blade. Other side of blade has pictogram of Carlos V. Blade is heavily patinaed and measures 37.75" long. Blade has intentional dull edge. One banner is yellow with black eagle and other banner is red with yellow 8 pointed star in white shield. Armor set appears complete and would make for an excellent display piece. Vintage unknown. Whole set on stand measures ~24.5"W x 17.75" x 75"T. Armor stand base measures 17.75"D x 17.25"W x 74"T.

Civil War-Style Kepi Hats (2), one cap has embroidered initials on front "AMC", military Civil War-style buttons on band, blue wool in very good condition, no mothing, le...moreather brim has severe heat marks, see photo. Second hat is probably Masonic, embroidered "CC63" on black patch sewn onto front of hat, buttons have cross through crown, makers name not visible, cloth has no mothing, leather being in good condition.

Battle of Wilson's Creek framed lithograph. The Battle of Wilson's Creek was the first battle in the neutral state of Missouri, but the governor was secretly supporting t...morehe Confederate troops. The Battle started off in the Union's favor as the Confederate troops failed to break through General Lyon of the Union. Eventually, Col. Franz Sigel lost his column and all Confederate forces went to Lyon's column. Lyon was killed and his second in command was wounded, leaving Major Samuel D. Sturgis in command. Sturgis retreated after realizing his men were out of ammunition, giving the Confederates the victory. Lithograph shows Lyon and his army advancing on the Confederate troops right as he was killed. Bottom of lithograph has some details about the piece. Lithograph has been well kept and does not appear to have any holes or rips. Framed with glass. Measures 24 1/4"T x 38 1/4"W from edges of frame.

The Battle of Yorktown was the last battle of the Revolutionary war where George Washington and French general Comte de Rochambean captured 2 British defenses and ended the war with General Cornwallis's surrender. Civil War Canister Shot and Stamps

Civil War canister shot with stamps of US Presidents and figures. Canister shot comes with a certificate of authenticity saying it was recovered from Antietam MD. The Bat...moretle of Antietam was one of the bloodiest battles during the Civil War and was fought by Robert E Lee and George B. McClellan. Although the Union took heavier losses, Lee retreated. This push back gave Lincoln the courage to write the Emancipation Proclamation. Canister shot has a diameter of 1.5". Stamps have various presidents and US figures such as Roosevelt, Lee and Jackson, Washington and Lee, and Grant, Sherman and Sheridan. Stamps are form the mid 20th century. See photos.

The Thirteen Original Colonies framed collector's buttons. These buttons show each of the now state seals and were cast from the original dies and plated with 24 carat go...moreld. Comes in a nice display box and was made for the VFW by Encyclopaedia Britannica. Back of the frame has a short description of the items and a makers mark. Buttons are in excellent condition with Rode Island having some minor corrosion at the top edge. Very nice piece of US history. See photos. Measures 9"W x 11"T x 2"D.

Hand Drawn P-40 Picture w/ Pilot's Wings

A framed hand drawn picture of a P-40E War Hawk plane with a pair of pilot's wings. The P-40 was the third most produced US fighter during WWII and served in the US, Brit...moreish, Russian and Chinese air forces. This drawing is made from pencil/charcoal and is signed by the artist in the lower right corner, dated 1988. The pilot's wings are mounted at the bottom of the frame and the era for the wings are unknown. Overall very good condition. Measures 19.5" x 17.5" from the edges of the frame.

WWII US M1 helmet and a FM 23-5 field Manual on the M1 Garand. Manual is in very good condition with some small folds at the corners of a few pages but each page is clear...morely legible. Helmet has some corrosion on the metal parts holding the straps together but does not have any cracks in the helmet or liner. Seam is on the front and swivel bales. Comes with extra straps. Liner is stamped "F" in a shield and "24". See photos.
