Interesting Rare Japanese Pre War - WWII Waseda University Type 38 Student Trainer FFL 26 (APL1)

Lot # 11

An Interesting Rare Japanese Pre War - WWII Waseda University Type 38 Student Trainer in good condition with a dirty bore. The action appears to function properly with he...moreavy patina to the original finish and some cosmetic blemishing to the stock with the rear sight base being loose. The stock is marked on both sides in kanji reading "Waseda University Student", (reverse side) "student soldier", (on either side of the flag)"service" and "must win". The stock is adorned with a national "meatball" flag and what appears to be a worn Waseda university crest on the underside of the stock. The reason apparently that the "meatball flag was painted and not the rising sun flag was because the students doing military training were not yet in the military. Waseda University is one of the most prominent and historically renowned universities in Japan and was founded in 1882. During the war the school was bombed and rebuilt in 1949. From what we understand Waseda's school policy was more relaxed compared to other central Tokyo universities before and during the war, allowing students to appropriately decorate certain school trainers. This is an interesting and historically significant piece of Japanese history. No Colorado Sales of Firearms & Ammunition.

Scarce Colt M1892 New Army/Navy 1st Year "KeyStone Unit" Presentation 38 DA Revolver No FFL (APL1)

Lot # 17

Scarce Beautiful Colt Model 1892 New Army/Navy First Year of Production 38 Colt Double Action Revolver Spanish American War "Key Stone Battery" Presentation Marked Serial...more Number: 576 in very good condition with a bright and defined bore. The action appears to function properly with minimal wear to the original blue finish. This gorgeous revolver sports 98-99% original blue finish and maintains its original factory heat treated blue on the hammer and trigger which is quite rare since majority of revolvers have it worn off. The cylinder has tight lock up and sports a nice original pair of period correct Colt factory grips. The revolver appears to have been a presentation piece to an H. Nelson Burroughs of Battery A. Pennsylvania Volunteers. Light Battery A, Pennsylvania Volunteer Artillery better known as the Keystone Battery was a longstanding unit of the Pennsylvania National Guard based in Philadelphia. When the United States declared war on Spain in April 1898, Battery A became the very first Pennsylvania volunteer organization mustered into federal service. Under the command of Captain Barclay H. Warburton, the battery comprising four officers and 78 enlisted men was officially enrolled and mustered in at Mount Gretna on May 6, 1898. Equipped as light artillery, the unit reflected the rapid mobilization of state militia forces to support America's emerging role as a global power during the brief but decisive conflict. Deployed to Puerto Rico (a Spanish colony at the time), Battery A performed garrison, training, and support duties but saw no combat due to the swift armistice signed on August 12, 1898. The war's short duration meant most volunteer units, including this one, returned home without engaging the enemy. Battery A was mustered out of federal service on November 19, 1898, in Philadelphia after roughly six months of active duty. Its early mustering and overseas service distinguished it among Pennsylvania's contributions to the war effort, which totaled nearly 17,000 men and helped secure U.S. control of Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines while granting Cuba independence from Spain. This is a high quality almost pinacol piece for any Colt collection. No Colorado Sales of Firearms & Ammunition.

Beautiful 1 of 4600 Colt Model 1902 Alaskan/Philippine US Prop Marked 45LC DA Revolver FFL NSN(APL1)

Lot # 18

A Very Rare and Beautiful 1 of 4600 Colt Model 1902 Alaskan/Philippine US Military Property marked 45LC Double Action Revolver in good to very good condition with a brigh...moret and defined bore. The action appears to function properly with minor wear to the original finish and maintains majority blue. The revolver sports a very rare US military acceptance proof on the receiver. The revolver has a pair of factory and period correct Colt grips with one panel having a small underside chip. The Colt Model 1902 Philippine, often mistakenly dubbed the "Alaskan" model due to its distinctive oversized trigger guard, emerged from the U.S. military's experiences during the Philippine-American War (1899–1902) and the subsequent Moro Rebellion. Chambered in .45 Long Colt, this double-action revolver was a modified version of the earlier Colt Model 1878 Frontier, featuring enhancements like a stronger hammer spring for reliable primer strikes, a lengthened trigger for better leverage, and the enlarged guard to accommodate the new trigger design. These changes addressed complaints about the .38-caliber revolvers' stopping power against determined Moro warriors, who were often under the influence of drugs or bound with vines to resist bullets. In 1902, the U.S. Army contracted Colt to produce exactly 4,600 units for issue to the Philippine Constabulary, a paramilitary force established to maintain order in the newly acquired Philippine Islands under American colonial rule. Marked with "U.S. " these revolvers represented a stopgap solution before the adoption of the iconic Colt M1911 semi-automatic pistol in .45 ACP. Though the Model 1902 saw limited combat due to the winding down of major hostilities by 1903, it symbolized the U.S. military's shift toward more potent handguns amid colonial pacification efforts. Today, as one of only 4,600 ever made, surviving examples are highly prized by collectors and are few and far between making it a must have for any Colt revolver collection. No Colorado Sales of Firearms & Ammunition.

Extremely Rare Finnish WWII "Puolustuslaitos"M91 7.62x54 Mosin Nagant Defense Dep Rifle #13558(APL1)

Lot # 19

An Extremely Rare Finnish Military WWII era "Puolustuslaitos" Rework M1891 7.62x54r Mosin-Nagant Defense Department Issue Rifle 1 of Approximately 500 ever made in good t...moreo very good condition with a bright and defined bore. The action appears to function properly with minor wear to the original finish. A 1940-dated VKT Arsenal marked with "Puolustuslaitos" Defense Department issue title one of only a few hundred ever produced. The "Puolustuslaitos" marking on Finnish Mosin-Nagants (including M91 variants) is considered one of the rarest among collectors. Puolustuslaitos translates to "Defense Department" (or similar phrasing like "Department of Defense") in English. It served as a temporary Finnish property/ownership stamp applied to rifles during a very brief window apparently just January and February 1942 (or roughly a two-month period at the start of 1942). This was right around the time Finland was transitioning markings during the Continuation War period. It was quickly replaced by the much more common boxed SA mark (standing for Suomen Armeija, or Finnish Army), likely starting in March 1942 for practical reasons. Because of this extremely limited production/application timeframe, rifles bearing the Puolustuslaitos stamp saw only short-term use before the new marking took over. This particular rifle was used by the Finnish Civil Guard verified by Finnish weapon archives. No Colorado Sales of Firearms & Ammunition.

Rare German Military WWII era Mostly MATCHING 98K 8mm Mauser Bolt-Action Rifle - FFL # 2957e (APL1)

A Rare German Military WWII era mostly MATCHING 98K 8mm Mauser Bolt-Action Rifle in very good condition with a bright and defined bore. The rifle is Coded "27" for Erma-W...moreerke manufactured in 1940. The action appears to function properly with minor wear to the original finish. The "27"-coded ERMA K98ks are considered scarce to moderately rare among German WWII Mauser and are harder to find than Mauser Oberndorf or Sauer examples. They command a premium due to ERMA's limited K98k run and reputation for fine craftsmanship (deep bluing, precise milling). No Colorado Sales of Firearms & Ammunition.
