Webley & Scott Model 1913 Navy Marked Semi-Automatic Pistol with Holster and Shoulder Strap

The is a fine example of a late production, British Model 1913 semi-automatic pistol that was manufactured by Webley & Scott Company. This design was the result of years of development work by Webley & Scott in conjunction with the British Army, as they recognized the need for a semi-automatic pistol based on what every other country was developing. This pistol design was finally adopted by the British Navy as the Model 1913 MK 1 "N" for Royal Navy issue. Unfortunately the British Army decided to remain with the large British revolver as their service sidearm as it was more reliable and cheaper to manufacture. The left side of the slide is marked with the Webley & Scott "flying bullet" logo followed by "WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD/PISTOL SELF - LOADING 455 MARK 1 N/1916". The top of the breech block and slide are stamped with the rare "British Crown/GP/Crossed Pennant" proofs and "Crown/V" firing proofs with the British "Broad Arrow" and "British Army acceptance" proofs on the side of the frame, grip safety and hammer. The pistol is equipped with a fixed front sight and a drift adjustable rear sight. It is fitted with a set of black, checkered grips. It is fitted with a bottom release magazine with a lanyard stud and loop on the lower frame. A leather holster and shoulder strap is included with pistol. The holster is unique in that its made from one-piece of stamped leather that is folded over and riveted on the side with "10" steel and copper rivets. It has a sewn in toe in the bottom with a single strap for the flap with the shoulder strap sewn on the back. Inside the flap it is stamped with a single "Crown/Broad Arrow" proofmark.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun

Very fine as refinished with 85% of the arsenal refurbished matte blued finish overall with only minor edge and high spot wear. The markings are clear and sharp. The grips are in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering on both sides of the grips mixed with light wear and nicks in the tops of the checkering in a few places. The holster is in fine condition overall with a nice medium brown color overall with only minor scratches and handling marks.
