Lever action rifle manufactured circa 1890. Features 26" octagon barrel, buckhorn sights, full length magazine tube, sliding dust cover, lever lock, semi crescent buttplate with sliding trap door cover. Bore is fair to good, dark with light pitting visible, strong rifling. Metal surfaces are a mottled gray or brown color over silver colored cleaned or scrubbed metal. Many small areas of shallow pitting. Most screw heads have slight to moderate damage to slots. Flats of barrel octagons are typically darker colored with thinning or bare metal on edges. Bottom of cartridge lifter has many small dents. Wood is good or better condition with some discoloration, small nicks and dents. Action is a bit stiff. Dust cover is a bit loose. Markings are generally readable, "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS" is shallow, "KING'S IMPROVEMENT" patent marking has sharp edged letters. Condition is NRA Very Good *** Antique Firearm ***
