This grouping includes an early M1933 Sturmabteilung (SA) dagger by J.A. Henckels, Solingen, with the Röhm dedication ground off. The dagger features its original scabbard and a period SA hanger clip marked “DRGM” with the Assmann maker’s mark. It is presented in a 24x12 inch glass-top display case along with an original SA stormtrooper armband (with RZM label), War Merit Cross with ribbon, NSDAP party membership pin, SA lapel stickpin, and an extremely rare original signed photograph of Ernst Röhm. The dagger measures 14 inches in total length, with a 9-inch blade. Early M1933 SA daggers are iconic Third Reich edged weapons, issued to members of the Sturmabteilung. Röhm-inscribed blades were issued to high-ranking or early SA members until Hitler’s order in 1934 that all such inscriptions be removed following Röhm’s fall from power. Ground Röhm daggers are highly collectible, and this example by Henckels is among the rarer makers. Ernst Röhm was the Chief of Staff of the SA from 1931 until his execution in 1934 during the “Night of the Long Knives”, Hitler’s political purge of perceived threats. As a key early figure in the Nazi rise to power, Röhm’s legacy is tightly interwoven with the brutal evolution of the regime. Artifacts associated with him, especially genuine signed photographs, are exceptionally scarce due to his erasure from official Nazi history after his death.
