1960's Mattel Ken Carrying Case, Ken Doll, Barbie Doll, Clothing, Accesories, Shoes, Hats, & More!

Lot # 27 (Sale Order: 27 of 187)      

This lot includes a 1963 Mattel, Inc. Turquoise Ken Carrying Case. The case is in very nice condition for it's age. It has very minor wear, with no major rips, tears, scratches or marks. The inside has the original compartments, to include the clothes bar, and the 2 cardboard "Ken Accessories" boxes. It has very minor marks inside.

Inside the case is a Ken Doll, marked on his lower back, "Ken TM, Pats Pend C. MCMCX by Mattel Inc". He has the turquoise eyes, and the dark brown flocked hair. His hair has worn spots, and some discoloration around the edges, but in otherwise very good condition.

There is a Barbie Doll, marked on her lower back, "C. Mattel Inc 1966 Philippines". She has slight matting to her hair, small punctures to her feet, and one small tear to one of her heels. She has a hole in one of her hands where a ring fits. Otherwise in very nice condition.

Also included in this lot is a huge amount of clothing and accessories, including: over 25pcs of clothing, almost all for Ken, and most having the Ken label inside in various conditions. There are 5 Hats, a lei necklace, 14 Hangers, a guitar, over 4 pairs of socks, other articles of clothing, & 7 pairs of shoes. ...more

Hamilton Beach Vintage Milkshake Blender No. 33 w/ original glass cup

This Vintage Green Hamilton Beach Milkshake Mixer measures at 18.5" tall, and has the original greenish/clear glass mixing cup. It has the "No. 33" on the front. In very nice overall condition with average wear. Only 1 small ding, and 1 fleabite to the enamel finish. The glass cup is marked on the bottom with all of the Hamilton Beach stamps. The glass has a few tiny fleabites, and minor scratches. The plug is in good condition, and it appears to be in good working order, but does not turn on when plugged in....more

Flintlock Converted Percussion Cap Spanish Miquelet Lock Pistol Early 1800's found in St. Augustine

This very nice Miquelet Lock converted to Percussion Cap Spanish Pistol is in very nice condition. This piece dates from the early 1800's, and was recently recovered from the property of a private estate in St. Augustine, FL. This pistol is in fine working condition, with all components. There is a touchmark on the top of the barrel, which we have been unable to determine the maker from. It looks to be in the shape of a crest with markings inside. All of the Brass Furniture and embellishments are nicely done with engravings, and designs of leaves. The nice dark wood stock has the typical slight nicks for a weapon of this period, but is in overall very nice condition. This piece does not have it's original ramrod. The overall length is 8.5". This fabulous Antique pistol is a wonderful representation of the history and culture that thrived in St. Augustine during that period. Reference; "Spanish Pistols" by James Lavin. ...more

Antique Tantalus Etched Crystal Cordials Bar Set w/ Stunning Marquetry w/ Original Key

This stunning burled walnut Tantalus Cordials Bar set measures 13.5"W x 10"D x 10.5"T. It comes with the original key. The front lifts up and back, and the side doors fold out to reveal a stunning etched crystal bar set. Inside is a tray w/ gold ormolu handle, that holds the exquisitely etched set, with a delicate flower & leaf pattern. It includes 3 etched decanters, and 13 Glasses. It appears that 1 decanter and 3 glasses are missing. The ones that are present appear to be in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.

The varnish on the interior of the box is very nice with minor wear. The marquetry on the exterior is in nice condition overall, with the few exceptions as follows...there are two strips of the very long thin gold wood accents, on the front, and two on the top, that are missing. some of the veneer on the front and top is cracking from age, as well as a few of the small inlaid detail work. Springfield Rifle Model 1884 Firearm Gun

This gun is stamped, "US Model 1884, U.S. Springfield, 22173X" with additional makers stamps. It measures 37"L overall. This US Springfield Model 1884 Rifle comes with a leather gun sling, and will fire. This same gun style was used by Custer's Men in 1876 at the "Battle of Little Big Horn". It has a unique "Block & Roll" Loading Mechanism. Also, as is often the case, the barrel was one time shortened by it's owner. In addition, the butt of the rifle has had a recoil buffer pad added at some point. Overall length is 37"L.

This firearm is exempt from a background check as it is over 100 years old. ...more

This lovely set includes an Antique Silver Cigarette Holder Case with multiple hallmarks on the side & lid. It has a small ring, as if it hung from a chain or cord. It measures at 2.5"L and weighs 10.2 Grams. I believed this held the cigarette holders. The next piece is a cigarette holder with it's case. The cigarette holder is marked, "sterling silver" and has a pretty etched design on it. Inside it has a wood lining with a plastic? tip from which you would draw from. Us Navy Officers Sword w/ Stingray Skin Hanlde Antique Model 1852 - NICE

This Model 1852 US Navy Officers Sword is in excellent condition. The blade is 28.5"L, with a nice light patina. The Etchings on the blade are fully visible and legible from the officers name, "R.E. MacDonald", to the makers mark, "A. Shuman & Co.". The U.S.N. is visible in two places, as well as the fouled anchors symbol. It has a white stingray skin grip that is in great condition and still retains the original twisted wire wrapping, that is slightly loose. The Brass Hand Guard is in very nice condition with Dolphin Fish Decorations, and has "USN" and an Eagle depicted on it. This piece is C. Late 1800's, and is referenced in "Small Arms of the Sea Services", by Colonel Robert H. Rankins, USMC (RET). This is an excellent example of this particular model sword, in very nice condition. ...more

Mid to Late 1700's Revolutionary War Period RARE Expandable Iron Cannon Bar Shot Antique Ammunition

This fine example of a Rare Expandable Iron Bar Shot has been conserved and is in great condition. It is approx 10" when closed, and expands to 16" in length when shot. It is 2 ¾" wide at the ends. This piece is Revolutionary period, 1750-1780's.

Along with invention of new weaponry, ammunition would see it's evolution as well. In the days of the sailing ships, all types of cannon shot were developed to inflict maximum damage from the cannons. Among them, was Iron bar shot, designed to take down the mast and rigging of opponents vessels, and to inflict far more damage than that of typical round cannon balls. They were made mostly of iron, and have been dug up and found on shipwrecks from around the world. Finding Bar Shot in decent condition is quite rare because of its iron metal content, it did not usually survive the elements. Most Bar shot that has survived is usually land found, as was this fine artifact....more
