According to Ithaca Gun Company's "37 Repeater" serial number chart, this shotgun was produced in 1967. SPECS: Glossed walnut stock with fleur-de-lis pattern checkering/ grooved forearm & fluted comb, etch engraved receiver with game bird hunting scenes on each side, Red Head brown rubber buttpad with black spacer, black grip cap with white inlayed "ITHACA" & white spacer, 28" FULL barrel with fiber-optic pin front sight, 14" LOP and 2 3/4" chamber. CONDITION: This shotgun is in good condition with age & wear, has an excellent clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Ithaca 37 is a pump-action shotgun that was introduced in 1937, and is based on a 1915 patent by John Browning for a shotgun initially marketed as the Remington Model 17. It utilizes a novel combination ejection/loading port on the bottom of the gun which leaves the sides closed to the elements. Since shot shells load and eject from the bottom, operation of the gun is equally convenient for both right- and left-handed shooters. The Ithaca 37 has the longest production run for a pump-action shotgun in history, surpassing that of the Winchester Model 12 which was the original inspiration for Ithaca's entry into the market. The Ithaca 37 is the only preWorld War II shotgun still in production. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders. PLEASE READ ALL TERMS BEFORE PARTICIPATING: There is no live crowd, no phone bidding, no left bids and we do not accept payment through the mail.
