Japanese Type 14 Nambu Semi-Automatic Pistol, with Holster, #18310, 8x22mm Nambu cal., 4.61" barrel, blued finish, grooved hardwood grips, inverted "V" front sight and fixed rear sight with trapezoid notch. The single magazine has an aluminum base and is an early nickel-plated type, without cutout for magazine retention spring. Matching number stamped on rear spine under a "dot" symbol indicating this was issued as a spare magazine. The tan leather holster is the Type VI variant with a nickel-plated spring closure strap. There is a very good condition white paper label under the flap printed with four Japanese characters. There is no extra magazine, ammunition, cleaning rod, or spare striker. Condition is good with handling marks, scuffs, and darkening to the leather, especially to the belt loop. A faint U.S. soldier's name "BELL" is lightly marked on the rear. Pistol is marked with the symbols for the "Nagoya Nambu-Kokubunji" factory on the right-side frame over "11.3" indicating mfg. in March 1936. Left side frame stamped with four characters identifying model "14 Year Type". Matching numbers stamped on trigger and top of bolt carrier. Condition is good, the metal retaining approx. 70% finish, with frosting and patina spots across the barrel and both sides of the frame and frosting across the front and rear grip straps. The straw trigger and safety lever retain their vivid colors. Grips are good with an even dark color showing handling marks and a scratch across the left side. Bore rates as fair to good with frosting forward of the lead with fair rifling. Action, safety, and hold open operate smoothly. No visible import marks. Est.: $700-$900. (C&R/PPT)
