Cal. 410. S# 220571. This desirable little gun is not listed in the identification ledger. It has 26" Vulcan steel barrels with narrow matted ribs. Barrel flats and lumps have all the correct factory markings, including the "000" frame size on the rear of the lump. The flat is also stamped with the May 53 Remington repair date code. Case-hardened, small-size Parker action features automatic safety and double triggers. Watertable with lightening cuts has all the correct markings. Action is engraved with wiggle borders and the Parker name in the usual V style. S# is on the blued trigger guard tang. The round knob pistol grip buttstock of plain American walnut measures 13-3/4" over the Parker dog's head buttplate. Standard checkering is at hand. The German silver shield on the toeline is engraved "ENW." The matching splinter ejector forend has the usual Parker release, which is not marked with patent dates. Dates are stamped on the inside of iron. MEASUREMENTS: Bbls: bore diameter at the muzzles: L .390 (full?); R .395 (mod?). Wall thickness: L .030; R .032. STOCK: DAH: 2-3/4". DAC: 1-1/2"+. CAST: neutral. LOP: 13-3/4". WEIGHT: 5 lb. 6 oz. CONDITION: very good to fine, as the factory was refinished in 1953 (repair code). Barrels retain over 90% factory blue over some knocks and dings. Action retains about 30% factory re-color where protected. Surfaces mostly present gray to brown smooth patina. The trigger guard retains about 70% of its factory reblue. Engraving softened. Stocks retain over 80% of factory refinish with many scratches and marks. Checkering shows light wear, especially on the forend. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight. Mechanically fine, except the cocking hook needs to be pushed forward in order to assemble barrels into the frame. Ejectors are slightly out of time. A scarce gun with 470 total 410 production, as estimated in "The Parker Story," is about half with ejectors. (23-5530/MGM). CURIO. $15,000-20,000.
