This M1895 Russian revolver is side plate dated "1943", along with the Izhevsk factory stamp - triangle with arrow, and was imported/ distributed by RGuns. SPECS: SA/DA trigger, 4.5" barrel, checkered wood grips & backstrap, fixed notch rear sight, dovetailed front sight, lanyard ring, checkered hammer, 7-shot cylinder and comes with a period correct brown leather holster/ dual compartment pouch/ cleaning tools & oiler. CONDITION: This gun is in nice condition with no wear to speak of, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Nagant M1895 is a seven-shot, gas-seal revolver chambered for 7.62×38mmR that was adopted as the standard issue sidearm for the Imperial Russian Army and police officers in 1895. It features an unusual "gas-seal" system in which the cylinder moved forward when the gun was cocked to close the gap between the cylinder and the barrel, providing a boost to the muzzle velocity of the bullet and allowing the weapon to be suppressed (an unusual characteristic for a revolver). Production began in Liege, Belgium; however, Russia purchased the manufacturing rights in 1898 and moved production to the Tula Arsenal in Russia. It was still being produced and used in great numbers during World War II and remained in use with the Russian Railways postal service until 1952. During WWII the M1895 was produced at the Izhevsk Arsenal from 1943 to 1945.FREE SHIPPING & NO PROCESSING FEES.
