A beautiful example of a WWII German pilot’s badge by GWL. The badge exhibits frosty silver finish with a shepherd’s crook pinhook. The back of the eagle is marked “G” over “W” over “L” with a small break in the surrounding circle at about the 8 o’clock position, as seen on original examples. Rivet construction, as expected. CONDITION: silver wreath shows a tiny bit of verdigris near the top. Overall dye work is splendid. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Joel Thone. (02-22540/BF). $1,400-1,800.
