According to the Winchester Arms Collectors Organization serial number database, this Model 100 semi-automatic rifle was produced in 1967. SPECS: Glossed walnut stock with basket weave checkering/ oak leaf design & fluted comb, blued metal grip cap with red "W" inlay, black checkered buttpad, polished blued receiver & barrel finish, drilled receiver top for a scope base, 22" barrel with recessed crown, dovetailed folding leaf rear sight with adjustable insert, ramped front sight with dovetailed white bead, sling rings with "Straight Shooter" brown leather sling, checkered cross-bolt safety on the trigger guard and 4-round blued steel detachable box magazine. CONDITION: This rifle is in beautiful condition with very light wear, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Winchester Model 100 semi-automatic rifle was produced from 1961 to 1973. It was chambered in .243, .284, and .308 Winchester cartridges. The .284 Winchester version was produced in the smallest quantities with some estimates suggesting only about 43,000 were made. The Model 100 was a companion rifle to Winchester's Model 88 lever-action rifle and was known for its reliability and ease of use. It was discontinued due to rising labor costs.
