German D.R.P. Model 1933 Standard Model Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #52191, 8x57mm, 23.62" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock set with finger grooves on each side and flat buttplate, inverted "V" front sight without hood grooves and adjustable tangent rear sight. A polished steel cleaning rod is mounted under the barrel, and an original black leather sling with open style buckle and teardrop adjustment holes is attached. Condition is fair to good with wear and finish loss, marked "MAUSER-WERKE A.-G. OBERNDORF A/N." on left side receiver rail. Top of receiver ring marked with "MAUSER" banner logo over "1933", and the left side with crowned "B.U.G.N." inspection stamps. Top of barrel stamped with "7.91" for actual bore diameter. Matching numbers except cleaning rod (#90). Marked "D.R.P./502191" inside of a double circle on left side buttstock behind disassembly ring for "Deutsches Reichspost". These rifles were used by Nazi organizations and the German Post Office. Condition overall is very good. Receiver ring and rear bridge appear to have been polished, and the markings are subdued. Balance of the metal surfaces retain sharp markings and approx. 80% of their finish, with wear and patina to the barrel bands, trigger guard/magazine floorplate, and especially to the buttplate. Wood appears to retain its dark red finish and is in very good condition, showing impressions, handling marks, and a chip to the front left forend. Action operates smoothly, bright bore rates as very good with good to very good rifling. No visible import marks. Est.: $3,500-$4,500. (C&R/PPT)
