HISTORY: The Lyman Great Plains Rifle is an historically-inspired muzzleloader that has been a popular choice for both target shooting events and big game hunters for many years. It is based on the style of rifles used by frontiersmen in the 19th century on the Great Plains. These rifles were designed for bigger game and tougher conditions than the Eastern-style rifles. The half-stock design, where only part of the wood is covered, became popular for its practicality and maneuverability in the Western environment. Plains' rifles have gained popularity in modern culture due to movies like "Jeremiah Johnson" and books like the "First Mountain Man" series, which showcase their use by mountain men and Native Americans. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders. PLEASE READ ALL TERMS BEFORE PARTICIPATING: There is no live crowd, no phone bidding, no left bids and we do not accept payment through the mail.
