SN. 1. Certainly the John Browning of our generation, Antony Galazan has made more fine firearms in the last 35 years than any other American Gun Maker of this generation. His finest creations are those made under his own name, the “A. Galazan” best quality guns. This gun, his first Boss Action Over/Under marks the start of his successful endeavor to make a best quality hand finished gun in America successfully in the 20th and 21st Century. No doubt successful and incredibly impressive, this gun made with 28” fluid steel barrels, 2-3/4” chambers, that have solid filed top rib. Bbls with single small brass front bead, otherwise unmarked. Finely point pattern checkered Boss style forend with diamond shaped engraved escutcheon and fine English scroll engraved Anson type push button release at muzzle end. Forend iron is blued with fine scroll engraving. Full sidelock casehardened Boss action engraved in rose and scroll pattern with 5 floral bouquets on each lock. Locks engraved with makers name “A. Galazan” in riband at center, forward of the tumbler and fine scroll engraved throughout by famed engraver Thierry Duguet, and signed “Th. Duguet” just forward of the rolled edge trigger guard bow. Trigger guard bow engraved en-suite with SN “001” on tang. Mounted with a stunning piece of dark highly figured European Walnut with carved tear drops behind locks, and is checkered in point pattern through the wrist and terminates with blued fine English scroll engraved heel and toe plates with checkered center. Gun made with single trigger, auto ejectors, and non-auto safety. “SAFE” inlaid in gold in front of “T” shaped safety slide. Top lever is blued and scroll engraved. WEIGHT: 6lbs 13oz. SN: WBS276E Cal. 20 Ga / 28 Ga. This is a 1986-87 limited edition of only 500 shotguns. Each bbl is 25 -1/2” w/white Bradley single bead on the matted solid ribs, and numbered "1" and "2" and have 1-1/2” scroll engraving wedges at the breech ends. The left chamber area of each barrel set is marked "MODEL XXIII- WINCHESTER CUSTOM 2 BARREL HUNTING SET” and choked modified/improved cylinder. Each bbl set with its own beavertail forend. Automatic ejectors. Contoured boxlock action, top lever and trigger guard are engraved in intermediate foliate scrollwork with a gold relief pheasant in a field scene on the left side, a gold relief quail on the right and a gold relief vignette of John Olin’s Labrador “King Buck” in a punch dot oval. The lower tang is marked "ONE OF 500". Single gold trigger, tang mounted automatic safety/selector. Pistol grip stock and two matching beavertail forends are of beautiful dark feather crotch walnut w/checkered fleur-de-lis patterns, engraved metal grip cap, black Winchester recoil pad and vacant gold initial oval. BEAUTIFUL AND RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 21-6 FACTORY UPGRADE 16 GAUGE SHOTGUN

SN. 6517. Per Cody Firearms Museum Records, originally ordered in 1935 as a Standard Grade 28” Mod/Full gun with medium comb Trap Grade wood for one “Jimmy Tuttle”. Gun was returned to the factory in 1939 for rebarreling to 26” WS-1/WS-2 and embellished to 21-6 pattern engraving as it appears today: 26” Winchester Proof Steel bbls that have matted concaved top rib with small steel mid and white front beads. Breech ends of bbls with 2-1/2” scroll wedges. Bbl flats are nicely engine turned and stamped with gauge and chamber info. Bottom of bbl tubes stamped “WS-1/WS-2” choke marks. Pistol grip stock and beavertail forend finely checkered with nicely scroll engraved roll type release and iron. Inside of forend is engine turned with SN stamped on metal and wood. Receiver is beautifully engraved in 21-6 pattern w/classic Setter in relief panel on left, Pointer in relief panel on right all encased in well-executed foliate scrollwork. The bbl fences are sculpted in oak leaf relief and top of frame is full coverage foliate scroll engraved, as is the top lever. Trigger plate is similarly adorned w/ large relief engraved panel at center with pheasants in upland scene. Trigger guard is engraved w/relief bust of Pointer and fallen quail in small panel and tang with bursts of scroll. This fine execution is most likely the work of George Ulrich. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum Serial Number Search form. WEIGHT: 6lbs. 12oz. Min. Wall Thickness: .030(Rt) .029(L). Bore Diameter: .666(Rt) .667(L). Bore Restriction: .009(Rt) -.017(L). DAC: 1-5/8”. DAH: 2-9/16”. LOP: 14” to checkered butt. PROVENANCE: The Charlie Hunter Estate Collection.  CONDITION: Excellent and collector quality. Bbls with more than 95% of their original blue. Forearm is excellent with scattered light handling marks. Frame with about 95% of its factory blue. There is beginning high point edgewear but generally the blue is quite strong and the engraving is crisp. Buttstock is excellent with scattered light handling marks and minor finish abrasions and retains about 90% of its finish and checkering remains strong. Bores are brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are crisp, safety slide is a bit sluggish. C&R.

SN. 13936. 26” Winchester Proof steel bbls, 2-3/4” cham, concave matted top rib with small brass mid and red Bradley beads. Auto ejectors, blued SST, non-auto safety. The coin finished receiver has fantastic deep relief game vignettes of a Pointer and quail in woodland scene on right side, a Spaniel coursing hare on left side, and panel scene of pheasants on bottom encased in flowing foliate vine and scrolls. Fences are finely stippled. Blued top lever in scallopine geometric design and top tang with SN and shaded floral border. Blued trigger guard with gold inlaid signature “Hugh McBain” on bow. Nicely figured American Walnut beavertail forend and pistol grip buttstock is finely checkered and terminates with a leather faced ventilated white lined pad. Pistol grip has a beautiful silver oval cap engraved “Presented to Hughston M. McBain By His Associates in Marshall Field & Company on his 25th Anniversary with the company 10-9-1947.” McBain (1902-1977) began his career as a retail clerk feverishly working his way up the ladder until he became the youngest (age 41) President of Marshall Field & Co. 2/1/1943 and served as President through 1958. The base Skeet gun was ordered from Winchester by the Company with special engraving executed by famed Chicago engraver Arnold Griebel at the request of the company for this special presentation. Accompanied by its original leather presentation case, gold embossed “H.M. McBain”. Also a Winchester factory Letter confirming order by Marshall Field’s. Gun is featured in an article by Tom Archer and Terry Allen in Vol. 22 Issue 3 (Autumn 2011) Double Gun Journal. Additionally, a folio sized book from the McBain Family documenting Hugh’s 25th anniversary party at Marshall Fields. WEIGHT: 7lbs. 6oz. Min. Wall Thickness: .032(Both). SN.28294. Per Winchester records, originally ordered in 1966 as a Custom Grade 20 Ga two bbl set, the #1 set 26” IC/MOD is now separated from the gun. Set #2 is 28” bbls, 2-3/4” chambers, with matted concave rib and twin ivory beads. Rib legend “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER FOR L.B. MAYTAG JR.” Bbl flats are engine turned and have SN, gauge and chamber stamps. Bottom of tubes with “MOD/FULL” choke markings. Skeet style beavertail forend checkered in point pattern with triangular ebony tip w/scroll flourishes on irons. Inside iron is engine turned with SN and “2” on wood and metal. Blued flat side action is tastefully engraved and signed by Angelo Bee. Game scene engraving patterns of flushing quail on left, flushing pheasants on right and flighted Ruffed Grouse on floor plate. Made on a “00” frame with 26” fluid steel barrels that have factory original matted ventilated rib with small white mid and front beads. Rib is absent of any legend which is correct for this period of manufacture. Small ring of engraving at breech end of bbls. Barrel flats with SN, Parker Overload Proof stamps, Remington date code “EH” (October 1939), and unstruck bbl weight of 2lbs 15oz. Left side of barrel lump stamped “B GRADE 28 GAUGE / FOR 2-7/8” SHELLS”. Bbls with proper reinforced forend lug and weep hole ahead of lug for a gun of this era. Original slim beavertail forend with engraved case hardened Deeley latch release is checkered in flowing wave border pattern with proper reinforcement lug at muzzle end.Interior iron with SN and engraved screws. BEAL” Gun made with Parker SST, auto ejectors and auto safety as well as factory original ventilated rib. Accompanying this gun is a PGCA research letter dated 2/15/2013 identifying as found today and ordered by Union Hardware & Metal Co. and shipped to them 7/15/1938. Also accompanying this gun is the original cancelled check Mr. Phillips used when he purchased the gun from legendary sporting arms dealer William L. Moore on 6/17/1975 in the amount of $5500 as well as the original clipped advertisement for the gun in the Gun List. Additional provenance includes a July of 1975 appraisal from Pachmayr Gun Works valuing the gun at $6,500. Mr. Phillips put together a one page research write up on the gun noting that Carl H. Beal was born in 1889 in Morton, Kansas. He moved to Southern California and worked in the oil industry and authored numerous books and articles on the exploration of gas. Mr. Beal was well known for his passion for boxed bird events and collumbardie in Southern California throughout the 1930s and 1940s. Mr. Beal died in 1946 and is buried in Glendale, CA. William L. Moore purchased this gun from Carl Beal’s son in early 1975 and almost immediately sold it to Alan Phillips. The gun has been in Mr. Phillips’ collection for the last 47 years until his passing. This exact gun is also pictured in Larry Baer’s book “The Parker Gun; An Immortal Classic Volume 2” wherein he states that “There may be none finer than this AHE.”. SN. 234637. Made with 32” Peerless Steel bbl, 2-5/8” chamber, with matted ventilated top rib. Left side of lump engraved “Parker Bros. Makers Meriden, CT. USA”. Bbl flat is engine turned with SN on side of lump and Peerless proof marks. Near full coverage checkered forend with floral leaf carving and full scroll engraved Deeley latch release, internals of forend iron is finely engine turned. Casehardened receiver is full coverage scroll engraved with beautiful carved pigtails at front and “Parker Bros.” in banner on sides. Bottom of trigger plate with 3 large gold inlaid flowers and original owner initials “CWP” inlaid in gold. Top of action, top lever, and top tang are all full scroll engraved. Gun made with ejectors, no safety, single gold plated and checkered trigger. The trigger guard is blued and full coverage scroll engraved with gold inlaid SN at tang. Highly figured European Walnut buttstock finely checkered and carved cheeks, deeply cut fleur-de-lis on each side, and checkered in flowing wave pattern through the wrist and with flags behind the ball grip. Large gold plaque near toe, small Monte Carlo at rear of butt and terminates with an aging “No-shoc” brand pad. Made in 1912 on a #1 frame originally with 32” Whitworth Fluid Steel bbls (now shortened to 26”) with 2-7/8” chambers, matted concave top rib with twin ivory beads and rib legend that reads “Parker Bros. Makers Meriden, Conn. Whitworth Steel”. Water table with unstruck bbl weight of 3lbs. 4oz. and rear lug stamped “1”. Proper muzzle treatment w/ring of chain engraving and rib space void of knurling, breech ends with 3” wedge of floral scroll engraving. Fully checkered splinter forend with fully engraved iron, Deeley latch and floral engraved appended metal. Full semi-relief floral and acanthus scroll engraved receiver with “Parker Bros”at front of bottom of action and double ribbed bbl fences. Gun made with auto ejectors, now has Parker SST (gold plated & checkered), auto safety. Mounted with a very nicely figured piece of flame figured American Walnut, most likely a replacement, is checkered through the wrist, carved fleur-de-lis drop points and checkered side panels. Fully engraved long tang trigger guard with relief panel and gold inlaid SN, gold oval with initials “H.A.L.” and terminates with an aging “Olde English” pad. Accompanied by a PGCA research letter identifying this gun as being shipped to Pierce Hardware Co. of Oakland, CA with a ship date of August 1, 1912. Ordered with several special instructions including the original owner’s name in gold on the trigger guard “WICKHAM HAVENS”. Wickham S. Havens (1874-1934) was an influential real estate developer in the East Oakland Bay area and an avid sport. Harry A. Lafler (H.A.L.) was a friend and colleague of Havens serving as a consultant for important civic projects in the area. The gun was likely bequeathed to H.A.L. at Haven’s passing. Each bbl set has its own splinter forend with engraved Deeley latch release and steel tip. Bbl set #1, factory original 25", which "The Parker Story" does not note even one example being made! Both watertables with unstruck bbl weight and lugs with "0" frame marking and "16" for gauge. This gun is found in the "Parker Gun Identification & Serialization" book as an option code 6, confirming its current configuration as a factory original two bbl set. The casehardened action is beautifully engraved in standard CHE pattern with two large quail on the trigger plate. Made with auto ejectors, Parker SST, auto safety. The straight grip buttstock is of nicely figured French Walnut with teardrops behind receiver, is checkered in flowing pattern through the wrist and terminates with a proper Hawkin's brand pad.
