SN. 78,671. Made in 1893 on a #3 frame, 30" Bernard Steel bbls, 2-7/8" chambers, with matted concave rib, with legend that reads "Parker Bros Makers Meriden Conn. Bernard Steel." Watertable with "B" stamp and unstruck bbl weight of 4lbs. 12oz. Splinter forend with engraved Deeley latch release and steel tip is checkered in point pattern with engraved iron. Casehardened boxlock action with sharp and crisp game scene engraving on sides and running bull elk on bottom. Capped pistol grip English Walnut buttstock with point pattern checkered wrist, teardrop behind action and terminates with its original skeleton buttplate which is light border engraved. WEIGHT: 8lbs. 6oz. Min. Wall Thickness: .035(Both). Bore Diameter: .776(Rt) .779(L). Bore Restriction: .025(Rt) .035(L). DAC: 2". DAH: 2-7/8". LOP: 13-3/4". PROVENANCE: Ex. Bill Mullins Collection. Private Collection, NY. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain nearly all of their bold original and beautiful Bernard pattern. The action retains about 50% original color casehardened finish which has thinned on bottom. Engraving remains excellent and sharp. The trigger guard retains about 60% original high polish blue. Checkering remains sharp and crisp with the stocks retaining 95% plus original oil finish, wood-to-metal fit is superb. Bores are bright and shiny, mechanics are excellent. This particular gun is one of only 27 in 10 bore with Bernard steel bbls. This is an extremely rare, high-grade Parker shotgun which remains in a gorgeous state of preservation. ANTIQUE.

Made at the very end of production on a very rare 1/2 frame with original 26” bbls, 2-3/4” chambers, and bbls that have matted concave top rib with brass and bone front bead and tiny filled spot at mid rib for a second bead. Watertable marked with Parker proof, SN, imp. cyl. and modified choke marks “RK” Remington date code (Nov. ‹41) and lug with large “1/2” stamp. Splinter forend is nicely checkered with engraved Deeley latch release and tip which are both casehardened. Gun made with auto ejectors, unusual but perhaps original Jurjevic SST, auto safety. Receiver is beautifully casehardened and engraved in standard DHE grade pattern with three pheasants on trigger plate. The capped full pistol grip flame grained American Walnut buttstock is checkered in point pattern through the wrist with unengraved nickel oval near the toe and terminates with its original blued and engraved skeleton buttplate. Buttstock is excellent and sound and retains nearly all of its original finish with minor handling marks and one more noticeable old scratch on the right side at the butt that is about 2” in length. Skeleton buttplate is beautiful with more than 85% original blue remaining. Bores are brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. Trigger works well. This 1/2 Frame DHE would be almost impossible to improve upon and easily ranks in the top few 1/2 frame guns known to this cataloger.

Bbl flats with unstruck bbl weight of 3lbs 3oz. Splinter forend with engraved Deeley latch release and steel tip is checkered in point pattern. The casehardened and engraved action is nicely engraved in DH Grade pattern of the period with Pointer on left, Setter on right, 4 quail on trigger plate all surrounded by well executed Parker scroll. Top tang with “SAFE” in front of safety slide. Capped pistol grip buttstock with carved tear drops behind action is checkered in point pattern through the wrist, has silver oval near toe which is unengraved, and terminates with its original skeleton buttplate. Gun made with double triggers, extractors, auto safety. WEIGHT: 6lbs 3oz. Bore Measurement: .616(Rt) .615(L). Bore Restriction: .025(Rt) .025(L). Makers, Meriden, CT USA Titanic Steel.” Bbl flats with “SKEET IN / SKEET OUT” marking and Parker Overload proving as well as date code “LF”. Proper reinforced forend lug. Beavertail forend checkered in wave pattern with engraved Deeley release and original reinforcement lug at muzzle end. Casehardened action is beautifully engraved with Pointer on left, Setter on right, and ducks in panel scene on trigger plate. Gun made with auto ejectors, Parker SST, non-auto safety. Finely figured flame grained American Walnut straight grip buttstock is checkered in point pattern through the wrist with tear drops behind receiver and terminates with its original proper blued and engraved skeleton buttplate. Nickel oval near toe engraved “G.P.” for early Parker collector and shooter Grant Pierce. Mr. Pierce owned and shot many extraordinary Parker shotguns and his name is found in many of the highest quality entries in the original Abercrombie and Fitch records. Action has only borderline engraving, and lockplates are marked “LEFEVER ARMS CO”. Trigger plate has a last patent date of ’87. SN is on tang of trigger guard which extends to fluted hard rubber grip cap. Dense, lightly stump figured European walnut capped pistol grip terminates with a checkered composition buttplate. Splinter forend is near full coverage checkered with engraved pushbutton release and triangular horn tip, forend is beautifully scalloped border checkered at breech end. The fences are nicely sculpted in fleur-de-lis pattern and locks are engraved with double dogs and scroll on right side, Setter on left with flushing woodcock in front of lever. Bottom of frame with engraved rails and full length trigger guard with Setter and scroll engraving on bow, SN at tang. The capped pistol grip buttstock is checkered in scalloped border pattern through the wrist with tear drops behind the locks and terminates with its original checkered horn buttplate with engraved screws. The top tang has two small holes, obviously factory, which indicate this gun was originally mounted with a tang sight and most certainly had a second set of rifle bbls with it.
