1940 GRAHAM HOLLYWOOD | OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Lot # 19 (Sale Order: 19 of 115)

1940 GRAHAM HOLLYWOOD | OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE | Here is one very cool looking car! By 1940 the Graham-Paige Company of Detroit was near bankruptcy. As a final hope to increase sales, Graham purchased the body dies from the defunct Cord automobile company which were originally designed for the 810/812 series Cords by Gordon Buehrig. The result was a new model called the Hollywood which was made in limited numbers in late 1940 and 1941. This 1940 Hollywood four-door sedan was fully restored at a cost of nearly 60,000 dollars. It is fitted with its original six cylinder engine and the original factory supercharger which has just been completely rebuilt. The car is a great pleasure to drive. It starts easily, shifts smoothly and has the power of a V8 with the supercharged straight 6. Odometer showing 664027 miles. This vehicle will sell at public auction on Saturday, June 25th. Location: Barber Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. www.hendersonmotorseries.com for all the details. Offered without reserve.

1940 BUICK ROADMASTER MODEL 70

Lot # 24 (Sale Order: 24 of 115)

1940 BUICK ROADMASTER MODEL 70 | One of 235 Convertible Phaetons produced in 1940 CCCA Full Classic eligible. Comprehensive restoration completed in 2004 and beautifully maintained since. One of General Motors finest and most reliable engines ever produced! Gorgeous pre war classic Buick! This classic Buick is highly original and one that would be fantastic for touring. In addition, this beautify is also CCCA recognized as a Full Classic! An excellent classic car investment piece for any serious collector. Finished in factory code correct 544- Royal Maroon exterior over a matching Maroon leather interior with a Tan Stayfast cloth convertible top accented by maroon piping. Under the hood resides a highly detailed 320ci Dynaflash Inline 8 engine mated to the 3-speed column-shift transmission. Features include full dash instrumentation, turn signals, AM radio with cowl-mounted antenna, vacuum wipers, dual outside mirrors, fog lights with amber lenses, rear interior courtesy lamps, and chrome Buick hubcaps and trim rings. Accessories include front and; rear seatbelts, locking gas door, 235/75R15 radial whitewall tires by Diamond Back, and front bumper mini flag holder. This particular Roadmaster Convertible Phaeton is a testament to how well these Buicks were built and how well a car can survive, given the proper care. A very well documented example from new, it sold originally in southern Virginia and stayed with the original owner well into the 1960's. It remained in that region when a Richmond, Virginia collector, Jim Wamsley, was able to buy it in 1974 from a dealer using it for business advertising. It would receive its first amateur restoration soon afterward and then be used as a very reliable driver for club events and driving tours, including the 1998 Glidden Tour 53rd Revival Tour. That owner of 27 years would finally sell it in December 2001 to Savannah, Georgia Buick enthusiast, Robert Minis, who continued to love and care for the classic very well. Affectionately known as Ruby, the new owner raved about her mechanical prowess and dependability on Buick Driver Enthusiast (BDE) tours and elected to drive it for a couple years just as he bought it. Over time, it began to show its age once again, and after meeting restorers John and Joyce Williams on one such driving event, he was convinced it would be worthwhile to perform a comprehensive restoration to the exterior paint, chrome brightwork, dash presentation, and engine compartment. The results remain very impressive today! It continued to participate in BDE tours, Buick National Meets, several Regional events, and parades under Minis' ownership. It would even have a small feature in The Buick Bugle September 2007 highlighting the special production of 1940-1941 Buick Convertible Phaetons, not to mention their incredible cost of $1,775 when brand new! In 2021 it received a new battery, new Pertronix electronic ignition, plug wires and; distributor cap; new engine oil and; filter, rebuilt Stromberg carburetor with fresh float and; fuel filter, completely new braking system from the master cylinder out to each wheel cylinder, front and; rear hoses, shoes and; spring hardware, and adjustment screws. Included in the sale of this Buick tool roll kit, convertible top center section storage bags, owner's manual, shop manual, service manual, parts catalogs, and lubrication chart. This Bank seized vehicle will sell at public auction on Saturday, June 25th. Location: Barber Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. www.hendersonmotorseries.com for all the details. 1947 BUICK ROADMASTER CONVERTIBLE | OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Lot # 25 (Sale Order: 25 of 115)

1947 BUICK ROADMASTER CONVERTIBLE | OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE |The Buick Roadmaster was introduced in 1936 and would continue production until 1958. It used the longest wheelbase available to Buick throughout its history. The pressure of personal automobile demand allowed Harley Earl's short-lived 1942 Buick design to remain in place for the first three years of post-war production, 1946-48, and this 1947 Buick Roadmaster Convertible features the legacy lines associated with that. This model displays a sleek, low-slung look, stylized with rearward-flowing body lines. For 1947, changes included the new stamped vertical-slat grille, and within the bumper-guard crosshairs is a chrome button showing the Roadmaster name in red-filled script at both the front and rear. This piece is one of 28,297 convertibles produced by Buick in 1947, and is powered by a 320cid Fireball inline 8-cylinder engine, mated to a 3-speed manual transmission, a semi-floating rear axle. Stopping is courtesy of 4-wheel drum brakes. Odometer showing 87043 miles, VIN#A47814327. This bank seized vehicle will sell at public auction on Saturday, June 25th. Location: Barber Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. www.hendersonmotorseries.com for all the details.
