Austin 7 AD Tourer

Lot # 228 (Sale Order: 28 of 159)

The Austin 7 was produced from 1922 through to 1939 and nicknamed the Baby Austin it was one of the most popular cars ever produced and sold equally well abroad. It wiped out most other British small cars and cycle cars of the early 1920s and its effect on the British market was similar to that of the Model T Ford in the USA. Prior to the Austin 7 though, larger cars were the order of the day but the forward thinking of Sir Herbert Austin felt a smaller car would be more popular. Austin put a large amount of his own money into the design and patented many of its innovations. In return for the investment, he was paid a royalty of two guineas on every car sold. Nearly 2,500 cars were made in the first year of production 1923, not as many as hoped, but within a few years the big car in miniature had transformed the fortunes of the Austin Motor Co. and by 1939, when production finally ended, over 290,000 cars and vans had been manufactured. This delightful Austin 7 Tourer was given as a birthday present to the lady owner when she was a teenager and has remained with her for close on 60 years. Although she owned many other vehicles during that period, this Austin 7 Tourer had a special place in her heart and when she received an offer of restoring the car in the 1980s by a retired engineer, it was a perfect opportunity to return the Austin to its former glory. The restoration took some four to five years to complete although the result is a vehicle of great quality and one that has a super history. The lady owner moved to the Channel Islands and took the Austin 7 with her where it was used sparingly. She has reluctantly decided to part with the car due to moving abroad. Registered on the original number of UU 9272, this Austin 7 AD Tourer is in excellent condition and is highly desirable given the condition and ownership.

The 3.2 V6 model also boasted Quattro 4 wheel drive system and dual tailpipe exhausts the larger engine TT also boasted 247bhp and a 060 of 6.2 seconds quicker than the manual car due to the swift DSG gear changes. This immaculate 3.2 V6 DSG Audi TT is offered in stunning silver with black leather and alcantara trim and includes the optional satellite navigation, together with a Bose sound system. Also present are two keys and the original handbooks. RollsRoyce Silver Shadow I

Lot # 230 (Sale Order: 30 of 159)

RollsRoyce Mulliner Park Ward Convertible

Lot # 232 (Sale Order: 32 of 159)

RollsRoyce Motors formed Mulliner Park Ward by the 1961 merger of two RollsRoyce subsidiaries Park Ward of Willesden, London, a RollsRoyce subsidiary since 1939 and H. J. Mulliner amp Co. of Chiswick, a RollsRoyce subsidiary since 1959. Mulliner Park Ward continues to operate as the vehicle customisation division of Bentley Motors Limited, the successor of RollsRoyce Motors. The Corniche was a development of the RollsRoyce Silver Shadow with the two door variants of that model marketed as the ‘Silver Shadow Mulliner Park Ward’ twodoor fixedhead coupe and convertible. The very handsome coachwork design was by John Polwhele Blatchley. The model was assembled and finished in London at Mulliner Park Ward as a continuation of the 1965 Silver Shadow Coupe, the Corniche name was applied from 1971 to all twodoor coupes and convertibles. The car used the standard RollsRoyce V8, 6750cc engine with an aluminiumsilicon alloy block and aluminium cylinder heads with cast iron wet cylinder liners mated to a threespeed automatic transmission from General Motors.Originally registered on 2nd April 1968 this RollsRoyce convertible has been used and enjoyed regularly by the vendor, sadly the car is now being sold due to lack of suitable storage space. The white coachwork is in good order as is the beige leather trim. The engine started immediately when requested, running smoothly and quietly as these delightful V8’s generally do. The automatic transmission operated smoothly and efficiently. The hydraulic hood works fine as does the braking system. Supplied with a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 8th January 2019 with no advisories. This RollsRoyce Mulliner Park Ward Convertible could well prove to be a shrewd investment.

Vauxhall Chevette HS

Lot # 233 (Sale Order: 33 of 159)

The Chevette was manufactured in the UK from 1975 to 1984 and was Vauxhalls version of the family of small TCars from their parent, General Motors GM this also included the Opel Kadett in Germany. However, the Chevette 2300HS was created for rally homologation. In 1976, at the instigation of new chairman Bob Price, Vauxhall decided to increase their profile in International rallying. In conjunction with Blydenstein Racing, who ran Dealer Team Vauxhall, they developed a rally version of the Chevette. They created a far more powerful Chevette variant by fitting the much larger 2.3 litre slant four engine into the shell, using a sixteen valve cylinder head which Vauxhall was developing. Suspension and rear axle were from the Opel Kadett C GTE, while the gearbox was a Getrag 5speed. Chevrolet Vega Alloy wheels similar in appearance to the Avon wheels used on the droopsnoot Firenza were used, as well as a newly developed glassreinforced plastic air dam. The resulting car was fast, with 135 hp 100 kW, and a far cry from the smallengined Chevettes from which it was developed. In order to compete in International rallying, the car had to be homologated for Group 4 the class the HS was to compete in meant building 400 production examples. The result was a fast car with good handling, if rather unrefined. Like the Droopsnoot Firenza, the HS was available only in silver, with red highlighting and a bright red, black and tartan interior. The HS was a great success as a rally car, clocking up notable wins for drivers such as Pentti Airikkala, Jimmy McRae and Tony Pond. It was a challenge to the most successful rally car of the time, the Ford Escort, winning the British Open Rally Championship for Drivers in 1979 and for Manufacturers in 1981. This wonderful example of these rare homologated cars is presented in silver with blackred interior. It has been cherished by one family who have owned the car since 1982. There is a fully documented mechanical and body restoration which was carried out by Country Classic Cars and completed in 2017. These are exciting “ hot hatches” which are a thrill to drive and one in this condition is an opportunity not to be missed.

MercedesBenz SL 500 Roadster

Lot # 234 (Sale Order: 34 of 159)

The MercedesBenz R129 models were produced from 1989 through to 2001 and were sold under the SLClass model names. The R129 replaced the R107 SLClass in 1989 and was subsequently replaced by the R230 in 2001. The R129 was based on the shortened floorpan of the MercedesBenz W124 saloon and featured many innovative details for the time. The R129 came to public attention in 1991 when Diana, Princess of Wales, sold her Jaguar XJS to lease a Jregistration, metallic red 500SL, becoming the first member of the royal family to use a foreign car. This controversy sparked a media storm as it was questioned whether a member of British royalty should drive foreign cars. The fifth generation of the legendary SL series of two door convertible sports cars made by MercedesBenz was known as the R230. It featured a fully retractable hardtop that was marketed as the Vario Roof a first for the SL class although it had been available on the smaller SLK model since 1997.This delightful SL 500 was first registered on 1st September 2002 and has only covered 61,000 miles since new. Having been serviced in London, the owner had the car maintained by his local garage in Kent for the next ten years. The garage proprietor liked the car so much he purchased it and used the MercedesBenz for three years, eventually selling it to a close friend. Finished in Brilliant Silver with charcoal leather interior, this SL 500 is in delightful condition. Benefiting from a good specification including heated seats and keyless entry, we are advised she drives every bit as good as she looks. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 14th May 2018, what better way to enjoy the summer months ahead.
The MercedesBenz R129 models were produced from 1989 through to 2001 and were sold under the SLClass model names. The R129 replaced the R107 SLClass in 1989 and was subse...morequently replaced by the R230 in 2001. Alfa Romeo Spider

Lot # 235 (Sale Order: 35 of 159)

The Alfa Romeo Spider was manufactured from 1966 to 1993 and is widely regarded as a design classic, remaining in production for almost three decades. The three first series were assembled by Pininfarina in Grugliasco and the fourth series in San Giorgio Canavese this was the last rear wheel drive Alfa Romeo. The Spider underwent a major styling revamp in 1983 which saw the introduction of black rubber front and rear bumpers. The front bumper incorporated the grille and a small soft rubber spoiler was added to the boot lid, which altered the exterior appearance of the car considerably. Various other minor mechanical and aesthetic modifications were also made and the 1600 car dropped the Junior name. The Quadrifoglio Verde green fourleaf clover model was introduced in 1986 with many aesthetic tweaks, including side skirts, mirrors, new front and rear spoilers, hard rubber boot mounted spoilers, unique 15 alloys and optional removable hardtop. Different interior trim included blood red carpets and grey leather seats with red stitching. The QV was offered in only three colours red, silver and black. It was otherwise mechanically identical to the standard Spider Veloce model, with a 1962cc double overhead cam, fourcylinder engine twin two barrel carburettors and five speed manual transmission. This particular example of the stylish Spider is presented in metallic blue with beige interior and contrasting black hood. The present owner has used it sparingly whilst in his possession however he has now decided it is time to part company with the car. The bodywork and interior are all in good condition throughout and the paintwork is also said to be in very good order. These are great little sports cars, admired by many and are always enormous fun to drive on either country roads or motorways especially with the hood down.

Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet by Karmann

Lot # 236 (Sale Order: 36 of 159)

One of the 20th centurys most iconic automobiles, the Volkswagen Beetle transcended its origins as the German Peoples Car, going on to become an alltime bestseller and cult classic. Originally conceived by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, the Volkswagen inspired great loyalty and enthusiasm based on its practicality, reliability, adaptability and affordability. The Beetle was simple to build with an air cooled engine eliminating the whole water cooling system of pumps, pipes, hoses and radiators as well as reducing the risk of freezing in cold northern winters. It was in 1948 that Wilhelm Karmann first bought a VW Beetle sedan and converted it into a fourseater convertible. The Beetle Cabriolet began production in 1949 by Karmann in Osnabruck, after being successfully presented at VW in Wolfsburg. The Cabriolet was more than a Beetle with a folding top. To compensate for the strength lost in removing the roof sills were reinforced with welded Uchannel rails, a transverse beam was fitted below the front edge of the rear seat cushion, and the side cowlpanels below the instrument panel were doublewall. In addition, the lower corners of the door apertures had weldedin curved gussets. The doors had secondary alignment wedges at the Bpillar, all in all producing a ridged chassis for the little convertible. This 1958 original righthand drive example is in fabulous condition and presented in gleaming white with a contrasting burgundy hood. This Beetle has undergone a full restoration at the hands of the current vendor who purchased the car in 2011. The bare metal restoration included new sills, floor pans and heater channels, together with new wiring throughout. The vendors dream was to enjoy this car on lazy summer days driving to the coast with the family. He confirms that the car ‘drives brilliantly’ and is rust free having been wax oiled at the time of restoration. This Beetle Cabriolet boasts the uprated 1641cc engine which enables the driver to comfortably keep up with modern day traffic, compared to the 1200cc original engine. Accompanying the car is an excellent history file including photos of the restoration process. Early examples of the righthand drive Karmann Beetle convertible are rare. In its current condition, this is an extremely desirable example which is aching to be loved and enjoyed for many years to come.

Aston Martin DB9 Coupé

Lot # 237 (Sale Order: 37 of 159)

The DB9 was the star of the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show where it was unveiled to the public for the very first time. This car, perhaps above any other modern Aston Martin, recaptured the imagination and spearheaded the resurgence of the British car brand. The sleek superform aluminium body was initially designed by Ian Callum but had also been significantly influenced by the next director of AM design, Hendrik Fisker. Powered by the familiar and fabulous 6.0 litre V12 engine, the Coupe was capable of a top speed of 186mph and boasted 450 bhp.The DB9 body shell weighed 25 less than that of the DB7 but had doubled its torsional rigidity and engineering accuracy this ensured the chassis performance matched the engine power. Aston Martin have always made the interior of their cars a very special place to be and the DB9 was no exception. The interior was beautifully tailored with the finest of materials, including Bridge of Weir leather, aluminium and wood, with customers being offered a choice of a walnut, mahogany or bamboo finish. This DB9 was first registered on 24th March 2005 and is offered in Grigio Titanio Silver with Obsidian leather interior trim some would say this is the very best combination for the DB9. This splendid example of a magnificent car boasts a comprehensive service file, with its last service undertaken by Aston Martin main dealer, Aston Martin Pangbourne in 2017. One of the previous owners, an exAston Martin employee, took a great degree of care which is demonstrated throughout the car’s condition. The V12 engine starts immediately upon request and sounds superb. The current vendor confirms there are no known faults with the car. The car is supplied with a V5 registration document, an Aston Martin car cover and a current MoT test certificate valid until July. Aston Martin DB9s are superb to look at and even better to drive, this one is no exception.

MercedesBenz SL 500 Roadster

Lot # 239 (Sale Order: 39 of 159)

Following the resounding success of the R107, the R129 MercedesBenz SL had a rather tough act to follow, and it still had to carry on the tradition of a fast and reliable grand touring convertible. The advantage designers had with the R129 was technology. By the time the final car rolled off the production line in 1989, these earlier models had been in production for 18 years with very little change. Therefore the new SL 500 featured many new and innovative ideas, such as controlled electronic damping, automatically expanding rollover bar and a more modern multilink rear axle. In addition to this was a fully operating electric hood, windows, door mirrors and seats, which made this model easy and comfortable to operate. The SL boasted a more powerful engine and the stopping power was aided by antilocking braking for added reassurance.Gone were the days of Dallas and Bond girls and a new technology was ushered in, the advanced SL had the ability to cruise in comfort at 150 mph with over 300 bhp. Diana, Princess of Wales sold her Jaguar XJS and leased a metallic red SL 500, she was the first member of the Royal family to use a foreign car. This 5.0 litre, V8 with five speed automatic transmission is offered in metallic Azurite Blue with mushroom leather interior and a dark blue soft top, this is certainly an attractive colour combination for the SL MercedesBenz. This two owner example has relatively low mileage and was specified from new with a wealth of desirable options, which include a glass panoramic hard top roof and electric adjustable heated front seats with a memory programme. These two desirable additions were coupled with electric mirrors, automatically dipping rear view mirror, CD player with a cassette compartment and headlamp washwipe. The history file accompanying this SL 500 shows a good degree of responsible ownership, which with so few owners is to be expected. It has no less than six MercedesBenz main dealer stamps in the service book, although the last service was performed by the vendors local garage in 2016 at 60,000 miles. Not only does this wonderful five litre, V8 provide sublime relaxed power, but coupled with the automatic gearbox and heated seats generates the kind of luxury motoring you would want from any modern classic.

Bentley T2

Lot # 240 (Sale Order: 40 of 159)

The Bentley TSeries was the Bentley badged version of the RollsRoyce Silver Shadow, available as a four or two door saloon with coachwork by James Young or Mulliner Park Ward. The Bentley differed from its RollsRoyce equivalent by its more rounded front grill, while the badging on the wheel covers, boot lid and gauges naturally featured Bentley motifs rather than the RollsRoyce logo. In October 1966, the ‘T’ saloons pretax list price of 5,375 undercut the RollsRoyce by 50 The Bentley was technically an identical twin of the RollsRoyce and seemed to have been purchased mostly by owners wishing for a more understated luxury saloon. The earlier sporting image of Bentley motorcars differing from RollsRoyces had gone by the time the Silver ShadowBentley ‘T’ was introduced and this was no longer a primary reason to purchase a Bentley over the RollsRoyce sibling. This Bentley was the Scottish Motor Show car in 1977 and was originally registered on 3rd January 1978. She has been well cared for and presents in good all round condition. The braking system and suspension was overhauled in 2009 and the 6750cc V8 engine was rebuilt in 2010. The bodywork was totally restored in 2015 with any corrosion removed accordingly and she benefitted from a full respray. Finished in the great colour combination of blue with cream interior, this Bentley T2 has recently had a new steering rack and pinion fitted. The car is supplied with a V5C registration document together with an MoT test certificate valid until 12th December 2018 and a host of receipts for the work carried out. Bentley T2’s are rare, this is example is in ‘ready to use’ condition.

MercedesBenz 380 SEC Coupé

Lot # 241 (Sale Order: 41 of 159)

Following the debut of the 1970s generation W116, MercedesBenz began plans for the nextgeneration SClass model in October 1973. Codenamed project W126, the project had specific goals an improved ride, better handling and improved fuel efficiency. These improvements were aimed at helping retain the SClass market leadership as the worlds bestselling prestige luxury saloon. Following the 1970s oil crisis, MercedesBenz had made fuel efficiency an especially pertinent goal named Energy Program, even in the large V8 engine versions of the SClass. In terms of the body design, the objective of the W126 design team, led by MercedesBenzs Bruno Sacco, was to produce a car that was sleeker and more aerodynamic than the previous model. The application of lighter materials and alloys combined with thorough wind tunnel testing to reduce overall drag meant the car consumed about 10 less fuel than its predecessor. After six years of development, the W126 was formally introduced at the Internationale AutomobilAusstellung International Motor Show in Frankfurt on September 1979. The initial lineup featured seven models. In 1981, the American Wheels Magazine selected the W126 model 380SE as its Car of the Year. This excellent 380 SEC Coupe was supplied by Woking Motors and has only covered 24,500 miles from new having had only one owner from new. Delivered with air conditioning, ABS and sunroof this car is still in showroom condition having been always garaged. The car is supplied with a fullservice history with 19 stamps in the service book, the last being in June 2017. Finished in thistle green with dark brown and cognac velour, this superb MercedesBenz also comes with a V5C registration document, an MoT test which expires in February 2019, spare keys, the original bill of sale and a large file containing all the books that were supplied when the car was new and a large number of invoices. This 380 SEC looks and drives as good as it did when it left the factory 35 years ago.

Triumph Stag

Lot # 242 (Sale Order: 42 of 159)

Like the Triumph 2000 it was developed from, the Stag was styled by Italian maestro Giovanni Michelotti and featured the monocoque construction, independent suspension, discdrum brakes, powerassisted rack and pinion steering and driveline of that saloon. The powerplant, though, was an allnew OHC, V8 of 2997cc capacity fed by a pair of Stromberg carburettors. The newcomer received a warm reception at the time of launch in 1970. However, once in the hands of customers there were quibbles over build quality and engine maladies. Although Triumph itself failed to fully resolve the issues, independent specialists have, and well sorted Stags are now the rival to the MercedesBenz SL they were always intended to be.This handsome example was originally registered on 23rd August 1973 and has recently been the subject of a sympathetic restoration. The car has been waxoiled from new and shows no signs of corrosion although the paintwork was a little dull and this has been refreshed. A new soft top has been fitted and the alloy wheels refurbished. New tyres have also been fitted along with replacing the front and rear brakes. The conclusion of this significant amount of work is a very well sorted Triumph Stag with automatic transmission. The car is supplied with a V5C registration document together with a current MoT test certificate, valid until 31st July 2018, and a history folder.

The CSK was intended primarily to publicise the new antiroll suspension and was promoted as a sportier Range Rover but most elements of its specification were drawn from the fourdoor Vogue SE or from USmarket models. Each car has an individually numbered plaque on the radio panel confirming its exclusivity, discreetly bearing his insignia and, in 1990, would set you back 28,995 for the manual or 30,319.32 for the automatic. The CSK features a number of modifications improving both performance and passenger comfort, and became the fastest production Range Rover ever built at that time with the proven and rechipped version of the 3.9 litre, V8 engine developing 185bhp. The increase in performance was complemented by improved handling at high speeds with the introduction of front and rear antiroll bars and sports dampers to give a smoother, more comfortable ride. Standard equipment includes a sixspeaker security coded stereo system, airconditioning, central locking, and electrically operated tiltslide sunroof, electric windows and heated door mirrors. Also, standard is the worlds most advanced fourwheel drive ABS braking system which prevents wheellock in the worst conditions on any combination of surfaces.Number 190 of only 200 produced, this rare Range Rover CSK is also one of only 49 fitted with automatic transmission. The car was subject to a light restoration by London specialist Graeme Hunt between 2012 and 2014 which included a bare metal bodywork restoration and now presents with a very sharp panel fit. Supporting documentation and pictures detailing the works are included in the history file work which was carried out to a very high standard as is still evident today. In 2013 the original 3.9 V8 engine underwent a full rebuild totalling 6,500 and, at the same time, a new stainless steel exhaust and manifold were also fitted. Supplementary work included a new quilted tan leather interior which perfectly complements the Beluga black paintwork. The car currently sits within a private collection and comes supplied with the original handbook and sales brochure, an MoT certificate until June 2018 and we are informed the car runs very well indeed. The service history includes nine services carried out by Land Rover Lincoln, Land Rover Boston and Andrews Land Rover with services at 6,851 miles, 11,453, 24,010, 29,885, 48,671, 54,721, 61, 849, 67,098 and 80,240 miles. With these highly prized collectors’ examples being offered well in the excess of 60,000, this particular CSK is offered at a competitive estimate and represents a fantastic opportunity to purchase a car that is regarded as the ultimate predecessor to the Sports Utility vehicle with the key word being Sports. Please note the cherished registration number will be retained by the vendor and new age related number will be issued by the DVLA

Airstream 19ft Caravan

Lot # 244 (Sale Order: 44 of 159)

Airstream is an American brand of caravans which are easily recognized by the distinctive shape of their rounded and polished aluminum coachwork. This body shape dates back to the 1930s and is based on designs created by Hawley Bowlus. Airstream trailers and recreational vehicles are manufactured in Jackson Center, Ohio. The company, now a division of Thor Industries, employs more than 800 people, and is the oldest in the industry. Airstreamers are a group who share a community spirit because of their common love of the trailers. In the early 1950s, Airstream company founder Wally Byam began leading groups of owners on travels to many parts of the world, where the towed trailers were quite a remarkable sight. Photos taken of the trailers in front of many famous tourist sites were common. This promoted a mystique which surrounded Airstreams and persists to this day.The vendor of this Airstream is an interior designer and as such this iconic American classic presents in wonderful condition. Having purchased the ‘van as a restoration project, he set about removing the body and repairing the chassis as required, together with overhauling the brakes. The interior was completely stripped, repaired where necessary, insulated and started to be reassembled. He then set about using his contacts to supply the best quality materials resulting in an Airstream of the highest quality and with superb design features. A refurbished Paul Metalcraft kitchen was fitted together with a Husky fridge, electric water pump, hot water and walnut worktops all resulting in an authentic 50’s feel. A double bed is fitted which can be enclosed if required. At the other end of the Airstream a new toilet and showerwet room was fitted, the walls having previously been treated to ensure suitable waterproofing. The effect of all this work has created a minimalistic feel combined with a retro, contemporary design. Viewing of this stunning Airstream is highly recommended, it really does take glamping to a different level.

RollsRoyce Silver Wraith II

Lot # 247 (Sale Order: 47 of 159)

When the RollsRoyce Silver Shadow was released to the public in October 1965, the development departments were showing the result of work carried out over a period of some ten years. The new series was characterised by surprisingly modern features and, with their development, RollsRoyce broke new ground and away from many sacred design principles. The new models were technically striking in three ways a monocoque chassis was used, all wheels were sprung independently and fourwheel disc brakes now ensured stopping power of the kind expected in a modern car. Under the bonnet, the V8 engine which had been introduced in the Silver Cloud series was employed. In February 1977, the RollsRoyce Silver Shadow II was introduced. Outwardly, the models were identifiable by bumpers with rubber inserts and edges made from polyurethane. The Silver Shadow Long Wheelbase was renamed the Silver Wraith in 1976 and a total of 2,135 examples were manufactured. In addition to the additional legroom, the Silver Wraith was identifiable by a smaller rear window, Everflex roof and different wheel covers. This 1980 RollsRoyce Silver Wraith II without division was purchased by the vendor in 1999 to join his expanding fleet of wedding hire cars. When he acquired the car she had covered 138,843 miles and has only covered an average of 400 miles per year up to 2010 when it was placed in storage only brought out a couple of times and MoT’d. Since 1999 this Silver Wraith II has been regularly maintained by RollsRoyce specialists Hofmanns of Henley. In 20045 the odometer in the speedo stopped working at the current mileage, finished in Midnight Blue with black Everflex roof and cream Connolly hide interior this RollsRoyce is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in January 2019 and a file containing the old registration documents, invoices from Hofmanns of Henley and old MoT certificates going back to 1999. The Silver Wraith II is the same as the Silver Shadow with the benefit of the extra leg room to the rear compartment, this delightful RollsRoyce offers enormous luxury for a modest outlay.

AC Cobra 289 by BRA

Lot # 248 (Sale Order: 48 of 159)

The BRA 289 was the first replica 289 to be produced in the UK and was moulded from an original Cobra 289. The car was designed by John Berry and Peter Ibbotson in Doncaster and over 260 were produced from 1981 until 1998 when production ceased. Gerry Hawkridge was one of the first BRA customers he later went on to join the management of the company. When BRA ceased production, Gerry went on to form Hawk from his base in SouthEast England, using the remains of BRA.Registered as a 1967 car, it is worth noting that JFA 332F could easily be registered in Europe as an MGB GT V8 was used as the donor. Constructed in the early 1980s, this BRA Cobra has a correct and frankly fabulous appearance. The car is offered in metallic slate grey with black leather bucket seats piped in red and Willans harness seatbelts. This example is presented with a suitable period plate from the donor car which complements its heritage look. The engine is a 3.5 litre Rover V8 unit equipped with a Holley Carburettor, giving excellent performance. The car has just undergone a comprehensive strip down and rebuild and could now be considered as almost new, with many man hours spent on fine tuning the fabulous sounding powerunit. The previous owner also spent over 5,000 on new brakes, shock absorbers, a steering rack, poly bushing the suspension and a general shakedown to complete the rest of the car’s fine order. The car sits on four refinished knockoff wire wheels shod with four good tyres and a half roll bar is fitted behind the driver as a passing nod to safety but, if you are intent on purchasing a V8 Cobra safety is not necessarily going to be your primary concern.Accompanying the car is a large history file detailing various works undertaken over many years. A tonneau cover is also provided which fits snugly in place when the car is not in use or may be used to cover the passengers side when driving solo. If adrenaline pumping power and a gorgeous V8 growl is what you’ve been looking for, then look no further.

Jensen FF Mk. I

Lot # 250 (Sale Order: 50 of 159)

The Jensen FF is a fourwheel drive grand tourer produced between 1966 and 1971. It was the first non allterrain production car equipped with fourwheel drive and an antilock braking system, the Dunlop Maxaret mechanical system, used hitherto only on aircraft, trucks, and racing cars. The use of fourwheel drive in a passenger car preceded the successful Audi Quattro amp Subaru by many years. The letters FF stand for Ferguson Formula after Ferguson Research Limited who invented the cars system. The FF is related to the similarlooking, rearwheel drive Jensen Interceptor but is five inches longer and mechanically very different. The FF can be distinguished from the Interceptor by a few styling cues the most obvious being the twin rather than single diagonal air vents on the front wing just rear of the wheelarches.Originally registered to Janeen SebagMontefiore in 1969, the SebagMontefiore family were partners with the Rothschilds in the world of banking. Purchased from Ever Ready Garage Ltd in Dublin, they looked after the car until they closed in 1980 and subsequently one of their mechanics looked after the car until recently. Janeen SebagMontefiore sold the car in the late 1970s and the Jensen spent a number of years in storage before being purchased by Robert Wootton, an Irish musician and entrepreneur. Some two years ago the vehicle was purchased by the vendor and immediately underwent restoration work. Presenting now in delightful condition, this Jensen FF is in a factory one off blue with grey leather trim. Extensive work has been carried out to ensure this handsome example is ready to be used and enjoyed by a new owner immediately. Jensen FF’s are very rare this Mk.I example is one of only 198 examples manufactured, they have a reputation for being outstanding to drive with road holding commensurate of fourwheel drive vehicles. Now registered on UK number plates, this Jensen is one of the best examples we have seen for a long time.
