1933 Pontiac 5-Window

Lot # S307 (Sale Order: 7 of 67)

  • 1933 Pontiac 8 Series 601 Sedan • 1 Family owned • 69k Actual miles on Title • A briefcase full of history – pictures, documentation etc • Original except for paint • Unrestored • Straight 8 Engine • Runs & drives excellent • Multiple award winner This 1933 was brought brand new from Grand Rapids Buick Company in Grand Rapids MI by John Wittmann. John was not only the 1st person in his family to own a car, he was the 1st person in his family to even drive a car. He paid a whopping $731.30 for it. When John’s son turned 16, he gave him the car. As the story goes, his son took the Pontiac out behind the barn and painted it. John was furious; he took the car and had it professionally repainted. After John passed, his son kept the car, where it remained in the family until he passed away a few years ago. This Pontiac comes with a briefcase full of paperwork and pictures of this car documenting its history. There are pictures when it was new, and thru the years with various members of the family, along with handwritten notes on them. There is full documentation; the original sales paperwork, warranty sheets, copy of the original title. It runs and drives as good as the day John brought it home. The straight 8 engine starts every time and has only been driven 69k miles in it entire life. This multiple award winner was a very important part of the Wittman family, and now can be an important part of yours.

They came in both Coupe and Convertible versions, stunning colors along with a variety of big Ford V8’s. In 62 and 63 Ford offered and Roadster option consisting of a sporty composite tonneau panel with swooping headrests that covered the rear seat area. Although one could buy this option over the counter, these were special order Thunderbirds denoted by a specific trim code in the vin number. Thunderbirds were considered personal luxury cars and were very pricy in their day. The Corinthian White Thunderbird presented here is in fact a true “76B” code Sports Roadster with the unique tonneau, KH wire wheels, passenger side grab bar and fender skirt delete. It is in pristine condition with smooth paint, sparkling chrome and stainless trim. There is not one area of this car that isn’t spotless, including the engine-bay and under carriage. A new set of reproduction Kelsey-Hayes chrome wire wheels surrounded by wide whitewall radial tires and fender skirts motors this legend down the bi-ways exuding style and top-down driving excitement. This is one of approximately 455 1963 Roadsters built, and as it was written back in 1963, “Thunderbird…..most unique in all the world”………That pretty much sums it up

1951 Ford Custom Convertible

Lot # S318 (Sale Order: 18 of 67)

  • By far, one of the most popular and desirable Ford models for collectors of this year has always been the Custom Convertible. Seven body styles were offered in the Custom V8 series with 793,763 built total and just 40,934 being the desirable convertible. It was an uncommon sight on the roads then and that scarceness has only increased with time. Beautifully restored and a former AACA National First Prize (Junior) winner in Gainesville, Florida, this 1951 Custom V8 Convertible was a very solid original car before being restored by a Ford marque specialist. The Ford runs and drives like new. This car is driven by the renowned 239ci, 100hp flathead V8 engine and is matched to a three-speed manual transmission. The uncommon Casino Cream paint presentation is beautiful and it looks spectacular with its tan convertible power-operated top and similarly shaded interior. Among the equipment features are rear fender skirts, heater/defroster, clock, beautiful brightwork and trim elements, AM radio, stylish dashboard and interior appointments, color-keyed steel wheels with center caps and trim rings and Firestone wide whitewall tires. Along with the AACA First Prize, the Ford is also a “multiple-time” Early V-8 Ford Club of America Dearborn Award winner.
