Important Signed JC Hicks Jugtown Georgia six gallon decorated churn. This is without a doubt one of the most important decorated churns to ever come out of Jugtown area. This has a fantastic stamp in the top rim of churn, overall a nice albany slip glaze with a tree of life decoration and the face of Mr. Hicks with great facial detail. Condition is fantastic with only chip in rim above the Hicks stamp, shows glaze skipping nothing major. The churn was most likely a presentation piece. Also note it has the original lid that is stuck in the churn. No cracks or repairs. Again another fine fresh and scarce example, with no other examples known at this time. Fine addition to and southern collection. Museum Quality. Circa Early 1900's Standing 20 1/2" Tall
