WELCOME TO THE AUCTION

Lot # 1

Just to Reiterate from our terms and conditions: I do my best to estimate the grade/condition of the coins, but please note, unless specifically mentioned in the descrip...moretion, I do not guarantee grade or condition. I DO ALWAYS GUARANTEE 100% AUTHENTICITY, on an immediate buyback including any premium paid. But please understand, if you win a coin and receive it and send it out to one of the grading companies and it comes back graded less than I estimated or "genuine but Ungradeable", we will not buy back that coin. No refunds will be issued. Please understand this and look at the large pictures and make your own decision on the grade/condition. I do my best to give you my best estimate and your repeat attendance at my auctions is what I strive for, so I always attempt to give my best description/estimate of the coins being auctioned.

1991 Russia (Soviet) 5 Rubles Banknote P# 239a Grades Choice AU/BU Slider

Lot # 1613

1991 Russia (Soviet) 5 Rubles Banknote P# 239a Grades Choice AU/BU Slider. The "Sixth Soviet Ruble" was issued first in 1961, and the designs for both the non-comm...moreemorative coins and paper currency of the Soviet Union almost remained identical from 1961 nearly until the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. Briefly before the Soviet Union fell, there was the monetary reform of 1991 and the release of the Seventh Soviet Ruble, with designs that were fairly similar to the 1961 Rubles. Interestingly, the 500 Ruble note only existed for 2 days before the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the 1000 Soviet Ruble note only came into existence 3 months after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Some Soviet banknotes were printed and remained in use in various ex-Soviet states in 1992-1993, still utilizing the 1991 Soviet designs.

1922 Germany (Weimar) 100 Marks Post-WWI Hyperinflation Banknote P# 75 Grades xf+

Lot # 1631

1922 Germany (Weimar) 100 Marks Post-WWI Hyperinflation Banknote P# 75 Grades xf+. In the early 1920s, post-WWI Germany saw its economy spiraling out of control. H...moreyperinflation started directly after the war in 1918, but truly took over the Weimar Republic from 1921 to 1923. The value of the Mark declined incredibly rapidly. 1 USD was equal to 50 German Marks at the beginning of 1920. Toward the end of 1923, 1 USD was equal to over 4,200,000,000,000 German Marks. At times, denominations of the Mark became less valuable than the paper and labor to print it almost immediately after printing. Thus, denominations of the Mark notes became incredibly large, ending up in the tens of trillions.

1942-1944 Malaysia (Japanese WWII Occupation) 10 Dollars "Banana Money" Note P# M7b Grades Choice CU

Lot # 1645

1942-1944 Malaysia (Japanese WWII Occupation) 10 Dollars "Banana Money" Note P# M7b Grades Choice CU. After Japanese forces occupied Malaya early in 1942, they int...moreroduced new currency notes. Because the $10 note carried a picture of a banana plant, the wartime currency was referred to as banana money. For the first two years of the occupation, the Japanese maintained monetary discipline and kept circulation of this currency under control. However, with the country’s trading economy at a standstill, there was little to tax and, in order to fund the civil administration and purchase supplies for the military, the Japanese began printing more and more money. In December 1940, the active circulation of currency in Malaya was 120 million dollars. By the middle of 1945, the Japanese may have printed 4,000 million dollars, and the active circulation was 30 times greater than before the war. The predictable result was hyperinflation.
