1875 seated liberty dime love token initals, C.H Love Token Grades ng

Lot # 28 (Sale Order: 15 of 1549)

1875 seated liberty dime love token initals, C.H Love Token Grades ng. Love tokens are coins that were engraved after the minting process was complete. Generally, ...morean artisan removed the words and images from the reverse, or sometimes from both the obverse and the reverse of a coin. Artisans ranging in skills from a high-quality craftsperson to a "do-it-yourselfer" then engraved or punched pictures, initials, and messages on the cleared area.Other times, the coin was left intact and the artisan engraved initials, dates, or pictures on the edges around the images of liberty or royalty. The coins became lucky charms, objects of art, and pieces of jewelry. The messages on the coins could be used as spiritual reminders, family documentation, or sentimental sweet nothings. It is believed that the love token originated in Great Britain as early as the 13th century with the practice of bending coins. When dealing with your favorite saint, in return for a favor, a coin was bent and a pledge was made. The bent coin, "a token of your pledge," became a physical reminder of your obligation.

Group of 2 United States Mint Set in Original Government Packaging! From 1972-1973 with 24 Coins Ins

Lot # 33 (Sale Order: 18 of 1549)

Group of 2 United States Mint Set in Original Government Packaging! From 1972-1973 with 24 Coins Inside!. Group of 2 United State Mint Set from 1972-1973 included ...morea total of 24 coins struck at three different mint facilities. Each set is comprised of three Lincoln Cents (P, D, S), two Jefferson Nickels (P, D), two Roosevelt Dimes (P, D), two Washington Quarters (P, D), two Kennedy Half Dollars (P, D). On top of that, for first time, dollar coins were included in a government packaged uncirculated coin set, the 1973 Mint Set included the Eisenhower Dollars struck at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints, notably the Eisenhower Dollars were not issued for circulation, creating a low mintage key date for the series. For the 1972 Sets, the Denver Mint coins and plastic disc were placed in a cellophane marked with a red stripe and the Philadelphia and San Francisco Mint coins were placed in a separate cellophane with a blue stripe. Together they were placed between two cardboard inserts and placed within a white envelope. For the 1973 set the five Denver Mint coins were included in one cellophane with red edges. The six Philadelphia Mint and one San Francisco Mint coin were included in a separate cellophane with blue edges. Both were placed between light cardboard within a white envelope with markings indicating “U.S. Mint” and “1973 Uncirculated Coin”. This was a change from prior years of issue.
