***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 In Halves "Horseshoe" Vegas 1934 Walker & 'D' Frankl

Lot # 221 (Sale Order: 183 of 693)

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 In Halves "Horseshoe" Vegas 1934 Walker & 'D' Franklin Ends. Up for Auction is a Consignment I have been talking ab...moreout for the last few months, and I have finally secured. I have secured a collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. I have put 3 in each of the Independence auctions. We estimate the rolls to be worth $700-$900 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

1934A $5 Silver Certificate North Africa, Signatures of Julian & Morgenthau Grades vf, very fine

Lot # 227 (Sale Order: 189 of 693)

1934A $5 Silver Certificate North Africa, Signatures of Julian & Morgenthau Grades vf, very fine. It was the darkest days of World War II, just after Pearl Harbor...more. Were the Nazis under Field Marshall Rommel preparing a massive push through North Africa? If they did, and succeeded, they could use the millions of dollars in currency the seized to buy war material. To thwart this, these Silver Certificates were sent to North Africa. Each has a yellow seal on the front. If the Nazis did succeed to over run our expeditiary force, the currency would be demonetized. After the threat passed, most of these "North Africa" Notes were destroyed. Today they're hard to find.

***Auction Highlight*** 1892-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded au55 details By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 233 (Sale Order: 195 of 693)

***Auction Highlight*** 1892-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded au55 details By SEGS. One of the leading condition rarities in the long-running and ever-popular Morgan Doll...morear series, the 1892-S is an important find even at the au grade level. This is because the vast majority of survivors of this 1.2 million-piece delivery are well worn, with even AUs scarce by the standards of the type. Obviously, most coins from this issue were either placed into circulation at or near the time of striking or were destroyed under the terms of the 1918 Pittman Act. With one of the lowest certified populations in Mint State for any Morgan Silver Dollar, this AU 55 Details graded example would be a great addition to your collection. There are also no outwardly distracting abrasions, but the surfaces have both hairlines which limit the grade to details as well as tons of original luster which shines forth.
