Co trade mark on both sides of carriage - Sights: none - Winchester changed the barrel design of the cannon by increasing the outside diameter of the muzzle from 1 inch to 1-1/4 inches in 1908 - patent designed by Charles H. Griffith for Winchester beginning August 20, 1901 with the first becoming available in Winchester Catalog in 1903 - approximately 18,400 cannons were manufactured until discontinued in 1958 ending a 55 year production run - marketed unique feature of the Model 98 cannon was the breech-loading system which made it very simple and safe to operate when compared to traditional muzzle-loading black powder cannons of the time - cast iron carriage & wheels - overall length of 17" , width is 7" and height is 7.25" - total weight 14.25 lbs. - Yr. Fine condition - rifle - Pre '64 Eastern 20" rnd barrel carbine - walnut forearm and straight grip stock secured with barrel band and equipped with metal checkered buttpl...moreate; forearm and stock remain in very good sound condition with very light handling marks - barrel and tube magazine retain about 97% finish with loss to muzzle and thinning at mid barrel - receiver retains about 70% finish with greatest loss underneath receiver and all sharp edges - Markings: crisp & legible - Sights: open/adjustable rear sight - lever action - tube magazine - without saddle ring - Excellent bright and shiny bore with clean visible rifling - mechanics appear to be in good working order - Yr. Fine condition - rifle - 26" oct barrel - 2-piece dark smooth walnut stock with original steel crescent butt plate showing some handling marks & surface pitting on butt p...morelate, yet overall in fine sound condition - barrel retains about 90%+ original finish with some handling marks & loss to edges with minor dings & light pitting; Receiver retains about 60% of original finish remainder light pitting with most loss to right side; "WFV" is electro penciled on right side of receiver at wrist - Markings: crisp & legible- Winchester bbl. address, patent dates, proofs & caliber markings on bbl.; Winchester trademark & model on upper tang - Sights: dovetailed blade front sight/adjustable notched V rear sight - This rifle takes you back! Standing the tests of time, this rifle is still in good working order. The bore is dulling & dirty, yet its rifling is still strong & pronounced. Probably would shine after a good cleaning - The overall condition of this iconic American long arm is superb & fit for any Winchester Collector in it's original configuration. - Yr.
