Specifications, Brief Overview
This is a fully operational "turn-key" electromagnetic railgun system capable of launching a projectile to up to 3900 feet per second. The system is based on a capacitor-discharge pulse-forming network (PFN). Capacitors are charged to 400V. To fire the gun, the capacitors are discharged into the rails by closing thyristor switches in rapid succession. There are 32 capacitor-thyristor switch modules that can each be individually controlled. The current profile and projectile acceleration is programmable. The system includes an electomechanical loader to inject the projectile (armature) into the barrel at the breech end. It also includes an arc-flash chamber with integrated catch assembly to contain the blast and projectile. A cabinet with power supplies and controls hardware is included. Manuals and Safety equipment are also included. From loading to firing - everything is controlled from a remote pc terminal (included)
This system can be used with 1 PFN cabinet (described below), or with 2 PFN cabinets for the full 1 mega amp capacity.

This is a modular programmable high-current pulsed power supply capable of delivering a current of up to 700,000 Amperes. The system is a switched capacitor-discharge pulse-forming network (PFN). There are 32 thyristor-switched capacitive modules that can each be individually controlled to deliver 32kA each, and 4 modules capable of delivering 45kA each. The system comes with voltage dividers and a relay network with resistors for safe discharging
Modules can also be separated into custom combinations or operated individually for various other applications.
