With great sadness that we are conducting the estate auction of Mo Felling of Deckerville Michigan. Him and his wife Jane collected petroliana for over 20 years. Mo and Jane actually came to my first Petroliana auction when I worked for Aumann Auctions in 2001 at the Ralph Johnson Auction in Huntington, Indiana.

Matthews Auctions will be conducting an virtual online auction through Proxibid.com. This auction will be live on line with real time bidding, phone bidding and absentee bid. No live audience. I will be on August 15 starting a 6 pm CST in the evening.

Proxibid BP is 20% no discounts

Absentee & Phone BP is 18% discounted to 15% with a good check or cash.

All check have to be received within seven days of the end of the auction or the BP will be 18%.

Matthews Auction will be shipping items of size of 42? or less. All other items will have to be picked or Matthews Auction will deliver items to a show there are attending.

Special Terms

Online Bidding & other terms of the auction: 1. For Live Internet there is a 20% Buyers Premium added to the total. Matthews Auctions LLC (Auctioneer) has put forth very effort in preparing the catalog for this auction to provide accurate description of all items. All property is sold “as is” and it is the bidder’s responsibility to determine the exact condition of each item. Printed statements or descriptions by staff are provided in good faith and are matters of opinion. Absolutely NO refunds after a 10-day inspection period. 3. If it is multiple day event, 24 hours prior to the first day of the auction. If the day before an auction falls on a holiday or weekend, the deadline is the day before the holiday or the Friday prior to the auction. 12. The purchaser agrees to pay all reasonable attorney fees and costs incurred by the Auctioneer in the collection of funds. The purchaser also agrees that a fee of 2% per month be added to the balance of any unpaid balance due the auction company and any other cost or losses incurred by the purchaser failure to adhere to these terms. Any debt collection or dispute proceedings will be heard in Montgomery County, Illinois. 13. Shipping: The Auction Company ships through the United State Postal Service, UPS or Federal Express. Packing and shipping cost is the responsibility of the buyer and may be quoted before shipping. Fragile or large items may or will be shipped by a professional shipping company and may result in higher shipping cost. All items will be insured for the purchase price. Our first priority is to deliver your new purchase in excellent in condition. All items won online are automatically packed and shipped, unless the auction company has indicated otherwise.

Condition of signs are rated 1 to 10, 10 being the best grade a) 9.5 to 10 – absolutely a mint sign no imperfection (I never give “10”) b) 9 to 9.4 – almost perfect, may have a factory flaw or almost no damage, if there is, there will be none in field, only chips will be around the edge, great gloss c) 8.5 to 8.9 – may have minor damage, small chips, and minor wear but has to have good or great gloss d) 8 to 8.4 – has more damage, chips are getting larger or maybe in an important area, still should have good gloss e) 7.5 to 7.9 – chips are still getting larger or more of them, heavier wear in field, gloss is starting to go f) 6 to 7.4 – these signs have heavy damage, no gloss, small crease, deep scratches g) 5 or less – This is a judgment call, poor condition all the way around Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in these Terms and Conditions, TAC will not authenticate any single-sided sign that has been restored, nor will TAC apply a sticker over damage to conceal it.
