Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Japanese Mizurana Oak Casks

Lot # 26 (Sale Order: 26 of 534)

On August 19th of 2010, Lincoln, Wes and Kyle Henderson filled their first ruby port wine barrel with Kentucky Straight Bourbon. 10 years later, Angel’s Envy is celebrati...moreng that momentous anniversary with a blend of two Kentucky straight bourbons in a 50/50 ratio (four year and nine year), finished for an additional two years in hand-selected, charred, new Japanese Mizunara oak casks. Each collectable bottle is packaged in a cut crystal reusable decanter. Wes and Kyle Henderson chose a Mizunara oak finish to honor Master Distiller Lincoln’s love of Japanese culture. Rare and costly, Mizunara is more porous than other oaks, allowing easier passage for the whiskey into and out of the wood. This imparts rich notes of sandalwood, coconut, aromatic smoke, spice, peppercorn and clove. Angel’s Envy never shies away from hard work if it results in an exceptional whiskey, and this release truly embraces Lincoln’s pioneering founder’s philosophy. Donated by: Angel’s Envy

Buffalo Trace Series

Lot # 31 (Sale Order: 31 of 534)

FIVE of Buffalo Trace’s finest bottles in one package. Old Rip Van Winkle 10-Year is a wonderful bourbon bottled as close to barrel proof as possible. With a splash of ...moreKentucky limestone well-water when emptying the barrels for bottling. This rare whiskey is as smooth and you will find. Weller 12-Year is part of the wheated bourbon family and is aged far longer than most wheated bourbons. This offering is a smooth, easy-going and balanced bourbon with a beautiful deep bronze color. Weller Full Proof William Larue Weller developed his original bourbon recipe with wheat, rather than rye. Bottled at the same 114 proof the spirit was when it entered into the barrel, this non-chill filtered wheated bourbon forgoes chill filtration to preserve all the naturally occurring residual oils and flavors that occur during the distillation and aging process (potentially making it appear cloudy at cold temperatures). This bourbon balances a rich mouth feel, with robust notes of vanilla and oak. A whiskey that satisfies the demand of the non-chill filtered whiskey enthusiasts, honoring the man who made wheated bourbon legendary. Blanton’s Single Barrel Select – Two Bottles In the winter of 1881, Albert Bacon Blanton was born into one of the first families of bourbon history. At the age of sixteen, he started work in the Distillery as an office boy and fast became a leading pioneer in the development of bourbon. From the time he was made company president in 1921 until his retirement in 1952, his Distillery expanded from 44 to 144 buildings to become the largest Distillery of its day. During that period Colonel Blanton created his very special and limited supply of bourbon - his private reserve - handpicked and stored in what now is known as the famous Warehouse H. Although Colonel Blanton died in the spring of 1959, his legacy lives. Introduced in 1984, Blanton’s namesake bourbon was the first ever Single Barrel Bourbon sold commercially. The Single Barrel Bourbon is the first of its kind. Donated by: Sazerac, Party Central, and Nick Phelps
