GERMAN WWII HEER PANZER WRAP.

Lot # 2007 (Sale Order: 7 of 463)      

A unique mid to late war German WWII Heer enlisted Panzer wrap uniform made in a black wool which appears to be unworn. The wear appears to have been from storage over the years. A Panzer enlisted eagle is sewn on the right breast in the correct manner. The swastika is had sewn and the remainder of the eagle is machine sewn. There is a 1/2 cut on right side of the eagle above the wingtip and below the stitch line. There are no collar tabs, as this later wrap has the pink "Russian braid" applied directly to the collar. The braid is machine sewn through the collar, and while the right braid is completely intact, the braid on the left side is damaged and partly separated. The original aluminum Panzer skulls are applied directly through the collar, with the left skull having two aluminum pins, and the right skulls with two brass pins. The shoulder straps are not removeable and been factory sewn down with a machine stitch line visible on the inside. The "Russian braid" was machine applied directly to the strap before ether were sewn to the shoulders. The straps where sewn into the shoulders before the straps were sewn down. A shoulder board button is sewn down on each strap, through the standard type button hole. The braid on the left strap is completely intact, which the one on the right exhibits the same type of damage as the left collar. The uniform closes via four large black glass buttons on the rights side, as well as with four smaller black glass buttons. Both cuffs are secured with a small black glass button as well. The interior of the uniform has light gray partial lining with the maker mark (RBNr) and size stamps are on the left pocket lining. The cotton lining has a 1/4 inch hole near the left shoulder, as well as a couple of snags. Several light stains are present on the lower edge of the pocket linings. Both sides of the wrap have four closed belt hook stitch lines, and each belt hook strap on the inside has six machine sewn hook holes. Each inner side has two black HBT tie straps. CONDITION: An unworn Panzer wrap jacket with damage to the braid, as well as very light damage overall from storage. Excellent to near mint. Condition: Dimensions:

GERMAN WWII HEER PANZER TROUSERS.

Unissued pair of early black wool Heer Panzer trousers with size markings (about 44" long, and waist of 34"), and a two-line manufacturer name (illegible). Under the markings is a postwar added "Pol.42" stamp. Trousers have an off-white cotton partial lining around the waste and inner pockets, and an olive cotton partial lining on the fly and leg cuffs. Each leg cuff has two 1/2" ties, and there is a 1 - 1/2" black cotton twill partially hidden waist belt which is secured by a nickel plated steel buckle. The two slanted front pocket flaps, as well as the two rear pocket flaps, have olive cotton linings. Four glass type black buttons secure the pocket flaps, six secure the fly area, six are around the waist (one has half remaining), and each cuff has one button. All buttons are era original to the trousers. Pocket watch pocket and securing ring are present on the right front side. Trousers are undamaged, other than the one cracked waist button. CONDITION: While the "Pol.42" stamp has been postwar added, the trouser are unissued and in mint condition. Condition: Dimensions:

LOT OF 3: THIRD REICH MEDICAL OFFICER TUNIC, VISOR CAP, AND TROUSERS.

Lot contains: (A) German Army Medical Lt Colonel tunic, (B) Medical officer visor cap, and (C) Pair of uniform trousers. (A) An early 1930s tunic to a Lt Colonel of the medical branch who served in the Imperial German Army in WWI and was likely to have served in the Reichwehr as well. Tunic was made by the tailor "Christian Schwarz u. Sohn" in Munich, and is made from a fine quality doeskin dark green wool, with very light wear and no visible damage. There are five matching era applied buttons on the front, four on the pocket flaps, and two on the shoulder boards. The Oberstleutnant medical boards are tailor sewn in, with each having a rank pip and medical device original to the boards. The two bullion medical branch officer collar tabs are era machine sewn to the collar. A high quality officer bullion eagle is handsewn to the right breast before the lining was sewn in, and the lining is a dark green rayon type. Two sets of era applied awards loops are sewn to the left upper pocket, and four WWI era awards are pinned through three loops above the pocket. CONDITON: Overall near mint condition. (B) An early 1930s medical officer visor cap with no markings on the inner sweatshield. Cap is made from a high quality doesksin wool with no visible damage. Eagle and wreath are applied through the lining and appear to be era applied. Leather sweatband is intact with almost no visible wear. Lining is made from a dark blue cotton with a machine sewn sweatshield, and the officer chin cord is undamaged. CONDITION: Overall near mint. (C) Officer high quality black wool trousers, with a green rayon inner waistband and off-white cotton lining. All five fly buttons, six outer waist buttons, and right rear pocket flap button are era applied. Trousers have two front slash pockets, a right rear flap pocket, a small watch pocket on the right side, and a rear adjustment tab with a brass buckle. The outer lower cuffs have some light staining, and there are four areas of 1/4 inch moth holes in the crotch area. CONDITION: Overall excellent. Condition: Dimensions:

Lot contains: (A) Heer leather jacket with Panzer officer shoulder boards, (B) SS overseas cap with missing insignia, (C) Polizei breeches, and (D) Japanese Dickie. (A) Black leather jacket with moderate wear with slip-on Panzer Leutnant shoulder boards. One of the five glass buttons on the front has been replaced, and another has been resewn. Two glass buttons are present on the cuff adjustment tabs and the initials "HL" are sewn on a small clothing tag on the interior lower right side. There is a flap pocket on the left front breast, and two flap pockets on the lower front. On the right inside there is a slash pocket. Jacket is fully lined with a black blanket type fabric. Jacket leather is worn thorugh the black dye on the collar, edges, and seams. CONDITION: Leather jacket is good to very good. (B) SS overseas cap with black machine stitching remaining in the outline of a removed SS eagle and skull on the front. Exposed field gray cap wool shows age from wear, while under the flaps the wool is in the base color. Field gray rayon lining is intact and shows moderate wear, with the size stamp of "59" and an illegible maker's mark above it. Inside top of lining is made from a lighter field gray HBT fabric. CONDITION: Overall very good. (C) Polizei officer breeches in a blue green wool in lightly worn condition. Inner waist, pocket, and cuff end lining is in a gray rayon. Six buttons secure the fly with one being a replacement, four secure the pocket flaps with one also replaced, and ten secure the breech cuffs with four being replacements. LOT OF 2: GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE TROPICAL TUNIC AND HEER OFFICER TROPIAL BREECHES.

Lot contains: (A) Luftwaffe tropical tunic, and (B) Heer officer tropical breeches. (A) Lufwaffe tropical tunic with maker mark (Szysaka?) and size stamping inside the left side. Tunic exhibits fading and moderate wear with fraying to both cuffs. There are several stains on the arms and back. The six front buttons, as well as the four pocket flap buttons, are original but have been postwar repainted and retain 90+ of their newer paint. The shoulder strap buttons retain 80% of their original wartime paint, and are the large style buttons. Three original tan glass buttons secure the cuffs and the collar. Lot contains: (A) Luftwaffe tropical tunic, and (B) Heer officer tropical breeches. (A) Lufwaffe tropical tunic with maker mark (Szysaka?) and size stamping inside the le...moreft side. Tunic exhibits fading and moderate wear with fraying to both cuffs. There are several stains on the arms and back. The six front buttons, as well as the four pocket flap buttons, are original but have been postwar repainted and retain 90+ of their newer paint. The shoulder strap buttons retain 80% of their original wartime paint, and are the large style buttons. Three original tan glass buttons secure the cuffs and the collar. This example retains gold bullion thread separately sewn cavalry crossed saber insignia to the front along with an officer's twisted hat band with acorn tassels. Inside bears 'JOHN B. STETSON' stamp to leather sweatband that is still solidly attached with tight stitching. B) Private purchase Pattern of 1899 Lieut. Colonel's cavalry field service blouse for an officer of the famed "Buffalo Soldiers," and African-American regiment. Blouse has beautiful high quality gold gilt "U.S." and false embroidered 9th Cavalry Regiment officer's insignia. Lieut. Colonel's silver and gold bullion thread shoulder straps are present on each shoulder. Coat retains high quality gold plated "C" cavalry buttons. Maker label to inside of collar reads: BROWNING , KING & Co. - New York. Both uniform and hat are in excellent condition with only light period wear. In 1898, the 9th US Cavalry Regiment fought alongside Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders at the battles of Kettle Hill and San Juan Hill. Later, they served as his honor guard during his visit to San Francisco. In 1899 and again in 1904, the 9th Cavalry patrolled Yosemite National Park joining other cavalry and infantry as the first "rangers" of the park system. Under General John J. Pershing, the regiment fought in the Punitive Expedition against Pancho Villa in Mexico in 1916. The regiment spent World War I in the Philippines.
