(M) NICKEL FINISH COLT PYTHON REVOLVER IN BOX.

Lot # 2006 (Sale Order: 6 of 390)

Manufactured 1971. 2 - 1/2" vent rib barrel with full lug. Serrated ramp front sight, fully adjustable rear sight, smooth matte top strap and rib top. Left side of barrel with "PYTHON .357 / .357 MAGNUM CTG.", right side with "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.". Checkered hammer and serrated face trigger. 2-part walnut grips with Colt golden medallions. Housed in correct Colt woodgrain box with handwritten "E28257" on underside. End label indicates manufacture as a 2 - 1/2" Colt Python and, while it indicates a Colt blue finish, there is visible remains of a sticker that still reads "NICK" and would have read "NICKEL" when complete. It is our opinion that this is a factory nickel gun. Additional piece of tape across top reads "ROBERT FRANCIS HOBSON" and "paid papers done" and dated 8-28-1972. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the factory nickel with some minor marks from handling and storage, including some micro-scratches. Some very minor lifting of the nickel is visible near left grip. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with crisp rifling. Box has some peeling and rubbing to high corners but complete. A good example. EMW Accessories: Box Barrel Length: 2 - 1/2" Caliber/Bore: .357 Magnum FFL Status: Modern Manufacturer: Colt Model: Python Serial Number: E28257

(M) RARE SET OF COLT PYTHON SNAKE EYES DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVERS WITH DISPLAY CASE, COLT ADVERTISING.

Lot # 2010 (Sale Order: 10 of 390)

Extremely rare set of Pythons, one of 500 made for 1989 only, with mirrored serial numbers (EYES364 and 364EYES in this example) and "SNAKE EYES" rolled on barrels. Shared features are 2 - 1/2" vent rib barrels, simulated ivory grips scrimshawed with a pair of snake eyes dice on one side and a diamond royal flush on the other. Pistols have nicely contrasting Royal Blue and Ultimate Stainless finishes as befitting their serial numbers. Correct lighted Snake Eyes case with dice, poker chips, Snake Eyes branded playing cards, and 3 mounting rods, 1 descending and 2 horizontal. Factory boxes with correct serial numbers on end flap. CONDITION: Excellent; it is very unlikely that thes guns were ever fired outside of the factory. Both guns have only very minor marks from storage and the grips are free of chips or cracks. Mechanically fine, bores are excellent with crisp rifling. Boxes are very good with some age related distress. Case is very good, with some mounting wear, including a pair of holes in rear for mounting to a wall, and one mounting rod damaged and one missing (the descending rods); this is not uncommon on this set with the rods too weak to stay intact over time. Card decks are excellent and still in their seal with some separation at seams and slightly curved from age, but unopened. Lighting works appropriately and is quite bright. Colt factory letter detailing the special features and matching these serial numbers, and Colt advertising from the period. This set is one of the more difficult set of Colt revolvers to find and these are in fantastic condition. Please note that the flat stands the revolvers are posed on are not included in this lot. EMW Accessories: Display case and boxes Barrel Length: (Both) 2 - 1/2" Caliber/Bore: (Both) .357 Magnum FFL Status: Modern Manufacturer: Colt Model: (Both) Python Paperwork: Factory Letters and Documents Serial Number: (A) EYES364 (b) 364EYES
