SCARCE HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON REISING MODEL 55 FOLDING STOCK.

Lot # 4008 (Sale Order: 8 of 461)

Advertised for use as a police and military weapon, the Model 55 was a folding stock variant of the Model 50. While the Model 55 did not garner much in police sales, it was originally intended to be issued to U.S. Marine Paratroopers and Armored vehicle crews. The main differences from the Model 50 to the Model 55 was the elimination of the compensator, a wood pistol grip stock, and a wire folding stock. Out of the 120,000 Reising submachine guns manufactured by Harrington & Richardson, roughly 33,500 of them were of the M55 variation and were procured by the U.S. Marine Corps. The folding stock was not favored by marine personnel, who claimed that the wire folding stock would inadvertently fold while firing, and that fullstock Model 50 was far easier to fire more accurately. This example is in very nice condition, bearing no proof or inspectors stamps, with its metal components being finished in blue. This fine example is complete with its original Reising (Not M1 Carbine) sling. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original blue finish, exhibiting some wear and light surface oxidation. Stock screws are slightly marred. Stock shows some small handling marks, with two small indentations on the left hand side. Wire stock locks up tightly. This is a very nice example of a Harrington & Richardson Model 55 stock, that would be a nice addition to one's collection. -MLW-

Lot # 4013 (Sale Order: 13 of 461)

One of the most recognizable of the produced 9mm rounds as the early produced L7A1 ammo was loaded to extreme pressures, with some recorded chronograph sessions reaching as high as 1500 FPS. Olive drab green styrofoam lining with cardboard insert with "SV 3447 / HP 90". CONDITION: Fine, observable ammo has no discernible issues (patina, cracks, etc) and has tell-tale red primer sealant. Please review Morphy T&C regarding ammunition. EW
