Middle Eastern Flintlock .60 Cal Rifle.

N. Beyer (Lebanon/Dauphin) Full Stock Flint.

Lot # 9 (Sale Order: 9 of 1038)      

This rifle is about 62 - 1/2" overall length. About .50 caliber. Signed N. Beyer. Typical Beyer rifle. As a rule he did not use set triggers. Belled muzzel says this gun was for round ball, though no rifling remains. Buck and ball. Pleasing shine with good wood figure. Crack at heel, lock plate. Working lock. Nice patchbox and pleasing patina. Barrel length is 45 - 1/4". Octagon to round. Condition (Very Good).

Mid-19 century “Pennsylvania” rifle made by John Trout, Williamsport, PA (marked on barrel) with half stock (walnut) with cheek piece and pewter nose cap, octagon barrel, percussion lock, brass hardware and squirrel German silver cheek inlay, single side plate screw, iron tang and rear sight with hooded front sight. One ramrod thimble loose and one wedge plate gone. Worthy of restoration for a Pennsylvania marked piece. Overall length 49” and barrel length 33”.

Lot of 2: Powder Horns.

Lot # 13 (Sale Order: 13 of 1038)      

Both horns are 16" long. One horn is plain with a beveled ring near the top and has a wooden plug. The second horn has some ornate engravings near the top and has no plug. Horn is engraved with "1760" and "Success to the American Army" surrounded by a soldier holding a rifle with "Liberty" in the center. Nice clean etchings. Condition (Very Good).

York County Style Powder Horn.

Very nice screw tip with wooden plug. Wooden end cap fits nicely. Two repairs to side with what looks to be putty. One hole in side not filled. Two engraved bands on bottom edge. Has metal loops but no strap. Condition (Good). Size 14" L.

Early 19th century American manufacture flint pistol converted to percussion in very good condition. All brass hardware with two side plate screws, full maple stock with repaired or replaced butt, and percussion lock with no markings. Barrel is rifled with iron rear sight and brass front blade sight. Is marked either F or J Pool on top of barrel, but difficult to read. Overall length 16” and barrel length 10”. UPDATE/CORRECTION: STRONG RIFLING, FULLY FUNCTIONAL. BOTTOM OF WOOD HANDLE IS REPLACED (VINTAGE) AND DOES NOT MATCH WELL. BARREL IS UNCLEAED BROWN PATINA. STRONG RIFLING. WORKING.

Marked with manufacturer and 1853 on lockplate, barrel proofs, and faint date stamping on barrel tang. Overall length 14 - ½” and barrel length 8 - ½”. UPDATE/CORRECTION: 1845-1853. LEFT SIDE BARREL STAMPED "STEEL". BOTH (2) CARTOUCHES PRESENT, FRAINT US, SK&P STAMPS AT BREECH. 1853 ALSO STAMPED ON TANGE. MATCHING. BRASS CLEANED. METAL SMOOTH PATINA. SMOOTH BORE, SPOTTY. STOCK HAS EXCELLENT ORIGINAL FINISH.

Springfield Armory production single shot Maynard primer martial pistol in good-very good condition with no cartouches on stock, but initials GH on bottom of stock. Marked with U.S. Springfield and dated 1855 on lock plate, proofs on barrel, two leaf iron rear sight and iron front sight. Getting harder to find in today’s market. Overall length 17 - ¾” and barrel length 12”. UPDATE/CORRECTION: 1855-1857. VP & EAGLE HEAD PROOFS. FOLDING (2) LEAF REAR SIGHT. FACTORY CUT FOR SHOULDER STOCK. C-H STAMP 1855 ON TANG & LOCK. STOCK IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE FACTORY STAMPED. BRASS UNCLEANED PATINA. ALL METAL PATINA. BORE IS FROSTED BUT STRONG. STOCK HAS 2-1/2" CRACK EITHER SIDE OF LOCK PLATE. FUNCTIONAL.
