1938 Gibson L-OO Guitar

Lot # 3

This early X-Braced Gibson was refinished approximately 10 years ago. The guitar was available in the 1930's in either a tobacco sunburst or solid black. This one repor...moretedly began it's life as a sunburst but was changed to black when refinished. The guitar also has had top crack repairs and a neckset just prior to being refinished. The guitar is not a museum piece but a very good player with that early Gibson sound. The guitar come in an old non original hard shell case.

1937 9 Gibson EH 150 Double Neck (Very Rare) Guitar

Lot # 6

Very few of these double neck lap steels were made during Gibson's 2 year production. Though it was advertised in both seven and eight string combinations, this is the o...morenly double 8-string neck version I have been able to find. Virtually all were made with one 7 string neck and one 8 string neck. All of the original 16 Grover prewar sta-tite tuners are still functional and in very good condition. The fact that these tuners were also found on several pre-war Martin guitars and other high-line Gibson's makes them very collectable and expensive to obtain separately. This guitar also has Charlie Christian pickups both of which function properly and sound phenomenal. The guitar is complete and all orginal including the tweed case. The one exception is the case handle which as been replaced. The guitar has a beautiful tobacco sun burst finish which is in overall good condition. There does appear to be some small areas of possible touch up around the edge and there are a few sections of the bining that appear to have been reglued. The case does show signs of wear such as tattered corners but is sturdy and fully functional.
