1966 Shelby GT350-H

Lot # 101

One of 999 cars sold to Hertz in 1966 and one of only 50 painted in Sapphire Blue w/Gold striping. This car was purchased from its long-term owner in Pennsylvania and brought to Scottsdale. It is in largely unrestored, original condition having reportedly had one repaint sometime in the 80's. As with many Hertz cars, the original engine has fallen victim to the ravages of time but in its place is a proper, date-coded 289 hi-po mated to a freshly installed Tremec 5-speed. The original automatic transmission is present and included w/the sale.

New BFG radials have been fitted to the original chrome, Magnum 500 wheels. Mileage is believed to be accurate and original as is all the sheet metal, save for the left front fender which was replaced sometime over the past 50 years. New rear leaf springs have been fitted along with new upper and lower control arms, front coils springs and Koni shocks. The Ford VIN has been verified as correctly corresponding to the SFM number and is listed in the SAAC Registry of GT350s.

This is a well documented, great driving Shelby in excellent condition ready for the historic event season.

1970 Buick GSX Stage 1

Lot # 103

Number 362 of 678 produced by Buick in 1970, this multiple award-winning GSX underwent a three year frame-off concours restoration by a previous owner from 2007-2010. The car was resprayed the correct Saturn Yellow lacquer w/black satin stripes and every mechanical part was either rebuilt or replaced with originality a priority.

Ordered with the desirable Stage 1 Performance Pack, the 455 V8 in this GSX was conservatively rated at 360hp and included larger valves, a hotter cam and revised carburation. Actual output was thought at the time to be closer to 400. Completing the package is an automatic transmission, air conditioning, bucket seats and Rallye wheels.

Driven sparingly since its restoration, #362 has been stored in our fully climate-controlled environment while being fully maintained. It rides and drives as it should and is ready for its next caretaker.

1966 Jaguar E-Type Coupe

Lot # 104

With a maximum speed of 150 mph, a 0-60 time of 7 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 14.9 seconds, UK magazine Motor declared the 4.2L E-type Coupe as the fastest car they had ever tested. They went on to state "The absurd ease which 100 mph can be exceeded in a ?1/4 mile never failed to astonish. 3,000 miles of testing confirms that this is one of the worlds outstanding cars". And more than 50 years later, Jaguar's E-type is still indisputably one of the world's most outstanding cars.

This superb late-production ‘Series I’ specimen of the iconic E-Type is finished in its original attractive period color combination of red over black. This matching-numbers E-type was completely gone through during 2015 and sorted with new genuine components sourced from the UK. It was sold new to the famous painter Charles Kassler II of San Diego, where it lived all its life as evidenced by its California “Black Plates”. This E-Type has led an easy life, never having been abused, raced or dented. It is straight as an arrow and will be a delightful car to show, take on long rives, participate in car events, or collect.

In October 2015, the car was completely stripped to bare metal after hood, hatch, and glass removal, and repainted with Glasurit solvent-based color and clear coat. All rubber components were replaced, including windshield gaskets. All chrome has been refinished to the highest standard the industry can produce, and some mouldings were entirely replaced with new items. The car has undergone a complete mechanical renovation, including rebuilding of the 3 SU carbs, ignition, cooling, brakes and suspension, plus installation of new shocks front and rear. A factory exhaust system was also fitted with new chrome pipes. The interior is completely renovated with leather seats, console, and arm rest, 100% Wilton wool carpeting, and matching vinyl as original.

Riding on 5 new Dayton wire wheels and new Michelin tires, the E-Type features new lights front and rear, along with all new badges and chrome trim parts. This Jaguar retains its factory tool pouch, jack, and all owner’s manuals, including the manufacturer’s warranty card signed and dated by Charles Kassler II, who took delivery from new at British Motor Sales Co. of San Diego, California in 1966. The car remained in his family for 50 years until acquired by its present owner. The restoration took place during 2014 and 2015 and the vehicle is accompanied by receipts and a recently issued heritage certificate.

In 2016, the current owner had the later model cylinder head added to gain an additional 30 horsepower. At this time, a new clutch was installed as well. Of course, the original, numbers matching head is included with the car.

1972 Volvo P1800 ES

Lot # 105

True Survivor! This 1972 model is finished in white with 4 speed and Type J Laycock overdrive, Positraction rear, Tan/Biscuit leather interior and has traveled jus 67,258 original miles.

This car was featured in the lobby at the AACA Museum in Hershey, PA for their 2015 Station Wagon exhibit titled "A Family Affair".

Purchased in March of '72 by its original owner, it was meticulously maintained by him for over 30 years and then sold to the garage owner where the car was serviced. The second owner rarely drove the car but replaced the radiator and Idler arm assembly before being acquired by its current owner.

Recent work includes removal of gas tank to clean and coat its interior, new fuel pump and fuel filter, changing of engine and transmission oil, replacement of LR brake caliper and rotor (originals will be included with sale), LR flexible brake hose replaced, LR brake pressure regulator rebuilt, LR suspension strap replaced, new LR axle seals, brake master cylinder replaced and system completely flushed with ATE Super Blue fluid to ensure it was completely clean. The car now runs and drives great w/no known issues.

All gauges function except for the oil temperature gauge. Dealer-installed (Keystone Motors Berwyn, PA) Volvo A/C works but needs annual charging. New 185/65-15 tires were nstalled on rare Cosmic wheels from England. The original owner also installed a chrome valve cover. A period-ish AM/FM Cassette is installed w/upgraded speakers.

At some point in its early life the front end was repainted as evidenced by overspray on the front suspension and air filter exterior. The undercarriage is in solid, original condition and there are minor spots of surface rust under the top trim pieces on the sides of the car.

The original owner was an Electrical Engineer at Bell Labs in Reading, PA and his Bell Labs key fob is included. Also included is a Volvo Sports America P1800 Registry affidavit placing the car in their registry as of March 1997, original owners manuals and some paperwork including the original owner/credit card and A/C Installation paperwork. The windshield washer & bottle is functional and included, but not currently installed as it makes changing the oil filter a challenge.

The car has the original spare and the original, unused original leather luggage straps still in what appears to be original plastic packaging. Volvo factory service manuals for years 1973 and a Foreign Autotech P1800 service manual is included in addition to the Rare factory Overdrive and Fuel injection manuals.

With vintage Volvos setting auction records, there's no better time to include this handsome and functional wagon to your collection. Located in Southeastern PA, it is ready for immediate delivery.

1973 BMW 3.0CS

Lot # 106

Finished in Chamonix with blue leather, this striking 1973 3.0 Coupe has been completely restored with tasteful upgrades performed by well known marque specialist Don Lawrence of San Francisco. After purchasing the car in Beaverton OR, the previous owner commissioned Don to upgrade the car’s drivetrain. Don sourced and updated a 1990 3.5 litre M30 B34 engine from a 1990 735 and transplanted a E39 5-speed with new mounts and short shifter. A 3.65:1 LSD was also added along with modifications to the speedometer’s worm gear so relatively accurate speed is indicated. The odometer is now working but due to a period when it didn't, true mileage is unknown. The clock has been reconditioned by Palo Alto Speedometer and now functions accurately.

With the drivetrain removed, all body issues were identified and fixed. The PO wanted the awkward US-required reflectors and markers removed so that was done and the body was then filled and painted. As expected, some rust was found in both front fenders, rocker panels and the lower portion of the front nose. All rust was removed and the front fenders were replaced and the entire car was repainted below the chrome trim line.

The car’s stance is ideal sitting on 16” BBS rims w/Goodyear Eagle GTs and plenty of tread remaining. There is a 5th BBS rim for use as a spare. There is a CSL-style airdam that's been clear-bra'd and installed along w/period-correct Hella driving lights. The suspension was completely revamped and polyurethane bushings were substituted for the original rubber. The adjustable rear sway bar assists the Bilstein dampers and the car rides, handles and stops splendidly.

Inside, new front door cards were sourced and installed incorporating no speaker holes. New, correct carpeting was sourced and installed and a set of Cocoa mats add to period correctness. A vintage Nardi wood wheel replaces the OEM version. Since the leather was redone in its original blue by a previous owner, the dashboard was recovered in correct material with new wood veneer also installed. There is a period Becker Europa radio that plays through the original dash-mounted speaker. The radio has been retrofitted with an auxiliary jack which works with an iPod or iPhone. The OE Hirschman power antenna extends automatically when the radio is turned on.

Other modifications and updates include H1 & H4 European headlights, new front calipers, brake pads and SS-braided brake lines. The A/C system was upgraded to R134a and blows ice cold.

The car comes with a 3-inch binder containing receipts for all work down by the previous two owners totaling well over $30k. Also included are two original volumes of BMW’s parts catalog for the 2800-3.0 CS.

Just serviced, this well documented, fully updated and usable classic is a joy to drive that epitomizes style and class.

1998 Chevrolet Corvette

Lot # 108

Originally built for Car & Driver's One Lap of America in 2003 and featured in the January 2011 Corvette magazine, this nearly 600 hp street-legal C5 coupe now competes in hillclimbs throughout the Northwest. The 427ci aluminum block has been fitted w/Dart heads and has just been totally rebuilt by Shaver Racing Engines in Torrance, CA. The car will be delivered to its new owner w/a 0 hours engine w/dyno time only. A full build sheet along with dyno results is available.

Besides a fresh, full-race motor, attention has been paid to the Vette's suspension and bodywork resulting in a complete, balanced package. The chassis is by Mallet Cars and has been "tubbed", allowing for wider wheels and tires. It has a hood and rear wing made from carbon fiber and the suspension includes Penske dampers, P1 anti roll bars and heavy-duty Baer brakes. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a special close-ratio 6 speed gearbox with a heavy duty twin plate clutch. There are both diff and trans coolers along with an extra set of wheels.

The car currently competes in events organized by the Northwest Hillclimb Association and took an overall victory in 2009's Bogus Basin Hillclimb in Idaho w/former Corvette Challenge series champ Bill Cooper at the controls. Cooper is the long-time former chief instructor of Bob Bondurant's school and is offering a complimentary day's coaching at the track of the winning bidder's choosing [track rental fee not included]. This was also the car used to train current NASCAR champion Martin Truex Jr.

Billed as "The Fastest Car You Will Ever Build in Your Garage", the GTM is Factory Five's flagship supercar symbolizing their technological abilities. The car is drop-dead gorgeous and runs with the fastest supercars on the planet. Every drive in a GTM is accompanied by camera phones stuck out the window of passing [or passed] cars and thumbs up from other drivers. More than its rock star looks, the GTM is simply the most brutally fast machine you can build from a kit. Car & Driver said “Perhaps the best part of the GTM?is that after blowing off pedigreed cars during a track day, the owner can make a boast no one else can: ‘I built it.’”

While no two GTMs are identical, this one-of-a-kind GTM was meticulously handcrafted by the owner with no expense spared over three years. Custom features abound on this barely broken in supercar with just over 4400 miles on the clock. It is totally complete, running and registered in AZ as a 1965 Ford GTM.

It is in nearly new condition and fully sorted. Its only needs are a new owner...do you have what it takes?

The GT3 was all about looking...and going...fast. Porsche increased the displacement to 3.8 liters from the standard 911's 3.6 and gave it hotter cams with VVT for the exhaust valves. All told, these and other engine mods resulted in a horsepower increase on the GT3 to 435 from 415. Coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox, performance was outstanding with a sub 4-second 0-60 time.

This 2-owner Basalt Black GT3 has always been dealer serviced in sunny Arizona, never seen a race track and has a clean CARFAX. The Michelin Pilot Sports have plenty of tread left with no curb rash on the wheels. There is a partial front clear bra and no evidence of any paintwork on the ding- and dent-free bodywork. There is also a built-in radar detection system installed and the lightly scuffed front splitter seen in the pictures has been replaced with a new version. Recently detailed and serviced, additional equipment includes:
