RARE Excellent 1943 Inland X-Suffix M1 Carbine.30 Caliber Semi-Automatic Rifle w/ 3 Mags

Lot # 34

S# 947581X | 18" Barrel marked Inland and dated 6-43 | This carbine is unusual in that the serial number is followed by an "X" suffix. The receiver is also marked "SG" on...more the left side, below the wood line. This indicates that the receiver was actually manufactured by Saginaw for Inland. Apparently Saginaw inadvertently duplicated the serial numbers of some receivers that were manufactured by Inland and thus the "X" was added to avoid having two weapons with the exact same number. | Features early 2-position flip sight, and no bayonet lug. The wood stock is in excellent shape with the correct large ordnance wheel cartouche on the right side of the butt and "IO" in the sling slot. The 2-rivet handguard is also correctly marked "IO", both correctly denoting Inland manufacturer | Comes equipped with a mag pouch marked BOYT 1943 containing (2) Magazines still in Cosmoline, and a sling that shows honest wear. Oil bottle marked "IS". Also comes with (1) Magazine marked "S-O"|||| Condition: Very good, showing around 90%+ original parkerized finish. Wood stock is nice and solid with excellent battle patina. Rare Antique Colt Model 1861 “Special” Army Musket

Lot # 53

This .58 Caliber single-shot Muzzleloading Percussion Musket was produced during the Civil War Era of 1861-1865 by Colt Manufacturing Co. of Hartford, Connecticut. Estima...moreted production number for these are around 100,000 with no records to determine how many were actually produced. Barrel measures 40” and originally had 3-Barrel bands. This one has had its stock shortened and reduced to 2 Barrel bands. Lockplate markings are the standard Colt Special with “U. S. / COLTS’ Pt F. A. Mfg Co / HARTFORD, CT”. Dated “1863” in strong clear numerals behind the hammer. Barrel markings shows proof marks “V / P/ Eaglehead” and a small “C” on the tang. |||| Condition: Good/Sporterized. The lockplate surface is a light mixture of darkened brown and patina with no original case colors. Overall is in solid condition and for anyone wanting a fine example to restore, this would serve as a great candidate. Barrel shows some rusted metal as you get closer to the breech. This musket does function mechanically with half, and full cock holding and the trigger does work, however, no trigger is needed If you apply pressure to the back of hammer, it will release. This is just due to age wear. For it to be functioning at all is pretty incredible ||||| Class: Antique
