Description

This is our 2021 FALL PREMIER Auction and possibly our largest auction ever with many RARE Collectible Antiques & Arms from around the world. Everything from the 18th Century to the present will be on the catalog. From US, German, British, and Japanese Military Collectibles, swords, and other edged blades to a ton of rare collectible cartridge ammunition.

I would like to express my gratitude and how much of an honor it is to be able to distribute such a prized collection from Bobby O'Shields. In the Gun Community, he was a lifelong member of the South Carolina Arms Collectors Association (SCACA) for over 50 years, where he served as a show director, secretary, and treasurer. Both stamped matching serial #'s 238 which is incredibly rare to find the pair together! They have 5” round barrels | Both need work in order to function properly. These ...moreare certainly historical relics. |||| (1) lockplate visible, can make out what it says, proof marks are faint, top date is almost completely gone, Wood is solid with some wear and small chips. Finish is more of a dark mottled grey with speckles of past rust. | (2) lockplate is just barely visible but almost gone, proof marks are not visible, too date is almost completely gone, wood is solid with a little wear but nice than the first one. Finish is a mix between a mottled grey past rust speckling and a bare metal.

Original U.S. Model 1816 Percussion Converted Flintlock Pistol by Simeon North of Middletown Conn.

Lot # 3 (Sale Order: 7 of 442)      

.54 Caliber | 9” round barrel | Not much visiblity on stamps or writing left. You can barely make out "S.NOR" on the lockplate. Mostly a mottled grey look with solid wood...more, and working mechanicals. | In 1816 the Federal Government ordered 20,000 Flintlock Pistols designated the Model of 1816 from SIMEON NORTH, a Gun Manufacturer in Middletown, Connecticut. Between 1817 and 1820, 19,374 pistols had been delivered to Government Arsenals. At some point after delivery, this model 1816 pistol was converted to percussion, with a small round bolster set into where the touch hole used to be. Converted pistols such as this saw much use during the Civil War.

Original 1843 Excellent Model 1836 Flintlock Cavalry Pistol by Asa Waters Converted to Percussion

Excellent condition with clear stamps on the lockplate and 80% blue finish. 8.5” round barrel. Stock is solid and shows visible cartouche stamps. Can see a "P" stamp on t...morehe barrel. Mechanically functions half and full cock.| Adopted in 1836, the production continued until 1844, and this flintlock pistol intended for Cavalry was used in the Mexican/American War. A total of almost 41,000 units were produced before being replaced by the M-1842 Percussion pistol. Many flintlock pistols were later converted to percussion, just like this one.

S# 857 - 7.75” barrel | The lock is marked "Mre Impale" over "de St Etienne" (manufactured by the Imperial Arsenal of St Etienne) - Very good/excellent condition. The bra...moress butt cap, trigger guard, nose cap, and side strap have a nice aged patina. The original tulip head ramrod and butt swivel are present. Stock is solid and shows past cartouche stamps with matching serial #857 on Barrel, Stock, and Ramrod. Mechanically functions.

The nicest example ...moreI've seen with beautiful clear stamps, and markings. An extremely well maintained marbled patina finish, and nice brass. Wood stock is solid with excellent cartouches and a nice battle patina. Mechanically functions flawlessly. Rifling and bore actually look good. Rifling still nicely grooved. What a nice piece!

French Cavalry Model 1833 Officer's Percussion Pistol by Chatellerault with Micro Grooved Rifling

Lot # 7 (Sale Order: 11 of 442)      

These high-grade pistols were among the last single shot percussion pistols utilized by the French military, or any countries military for that matter. With a 9” swamped...more barrel that is rifled with 42 very narrow grooves. These pistols resembled expensive Continental aristocratic dueling pistols more than utilitarian cavalry pistols. As for the condition, the only remaining visiblity of a stamp is the word "Chatellerault" on the lockplate. The finish is completely gone with just a nice patina and polished metal look. Nice twist damascus patterned barrel. Wood stock and grip are in nice, solid condition with exceptional checkering. Mechanically functions with a nice bore.

Original Early 1800s Belgian Flintlock Dragoon Pistol with Crown over W Stamp

9” round barrel | Comes from LIEGE and dates just after 1815. Pistols of this type were in wide use in Belgium itself, as well as other Countries and the Civilian Market....more This is a substantial brass mounted walnut stocked completely standard Military Flintlock Pistol. The pistol is unmarked, except for a CROWN over W proof mark on the lock plate just rear of the pan, and the number 3147 next to hammer on lock plate, and the Crown over B Proof on barrel. The condition on this piece is overall very good for the age with a Dark mottled grey patina overall with a solid stock. Comes with a piece of flint in complete working condition. Nice piece in original and working configuration (Not often found).

Original U.S. Civil War Era M-1842 Cavalry Percussion Pistol by H. Aston & Co. - dated 1850

Lot # 9 (Sale Order: 13 of 442)      

Henry Aston of Middletown, Connecticut manufactured approximately 30,000 Model 1842 Pistols under two government contracts between 1845 and 1852. | .54" caliber 8 1/2" b...morearrel, with a with swivel steel "captured" ramrod for easier loading while on horse back. This Model was widely used in the U.S./Mexican War and then in the U.S. Civil War. The lock plate is marked “U.S. / H. ASTON” in front of the hammer, and MIDDTN / CONN / 1850 on the tail of the lock plate. The barrel is marked “US over WN/P” |||| Condition: Nice walnut wood stock and Brass mounts all in very good condition. Stock has been sanded at some point because of the faint cartouche stamps just barely visible, but stock in mint, smooth condition. Mechanically functions at half and full cock.

7-5/8” rifled round barrels | Only a few markings can be seen which are “JA&C, GS, RS, and E/LG Belgian proof and a Star/N proof on breech face. Floral engraved frame and...more action. Swivel barrel latch. Burlwood fluted grip. Steel pommel with finial. Condition: Very Good. Metal with grey-brown age patina overall. Wood is good with minor wear and blemishes. Mechanically seems to function with both hammers working as they should. Both bores show rifling with minor rust spotting.

Exceptionally Rare Civil War Confederate Marked Kerr's Patent .44 Percussion Revolver

I'd just like to start by saying this has got to be one of the nicest Kerr's I have seen go up on the market in a very long time, in fact, this is the nicest one of these...more I have ever seen, and any serious confederate collector should be all over this. Serial # / Kerrs patent 4953 on frame, also on cylinder. Marked on cylinder face is #316 and F316 on underside of top of frame and on trigger | 5.75” octagonal barrel || This is a scarce Kerr's patent percussion revolver with a Confederate "J.S./anchor" marking, which is an export stamp for revolvers purchased by the Confederate government. What's unique about this specific one is the etched "O.T.R." on the left side of the frame. It's really well done and must have significant meaning to a previous owner. The lockplate is marked "LONDON ARMOURY" and A round "LONDON/ARMOURY" stamp is on the lower left side of the frame, along with "L.A.C." stamped on left barrel flat. London proofmarks are on the upper left barrel flat and cylinder. |||| Condition: Excellent. 90% high gloss blue on frame and barrel with some light scratching and wear. 20% Blue finish on cylinder. 80% CCH finish on loading lever, and hammer. 60% CCH on Grip frame part. Checkered 1pc. Grips are in excellent condition with very little wear and some light scratches. Mechanically functions smoothly. Bore looks good with some very small minor pitting.
