Condition: Overall very good condition.

Northern Italian Schiavonabasket hilt broad sword, early 17th c., with a leather wrapped grip and brass shield pommel with an embossed star and crown, the curved blade with three fullers on both sides of the blade running almost the full length, 32 3/8" blade. Matched pair of Scottish flintlock pistols

Lot # 5 (Sale Order: 5 of 424)      

Exceptional matched pair of Scottish John Campbell highland ram's head flintlock pistols, 18th c., approximately .58 smoothbore caliber, having intricate scroll engraved three stage barrels with flared muzzles, entire pistols are intricately and highly engraved with the lower portions decorated with three silver bands engraved with chevrons, centered by panels of engraved lines of scrolls, chevrons and Celtic rope work, the cocks and area behind the cocks are engraved with scrolling foliate sprays, the butts are scroll engraved on the sides with foliate engraving on the upper section, the grips with silver monogramed initials in an oval panel on each side, the tail of the belt hooks are elaborately pierced, extending to the grips, the round pick heads and round trigger are engraved with heart shaped etchings, the ramrods are fluted with ornate turnings, the cocks have horizontal sears extending through the lock plates which hold the cocks in half cock position, 7" barrel with the total length of the pistols being 11 1/2". Condition: Both pistols are in fine overall condition, fully functional and locks up tight, picks and ramrods are original to the pistols and both exhibit a pleasing patina to the bright metal.

Colonial American flintlock long fowler, approximately .65 caliber, having a shaped brass thumb escutcheon, dated 1767, the brass butt plate with tang, inscribed I Dovalston, brass side plate, the trigger guard terminal of a panoply of arms, no markings apparent on lock or barrel, 61 1/2" barrel. Condition: Several cracks in stock along barrel, heavy pitting to barrel, 1/4" x 3" patch forward of the trigger guard.

Revolutionary War era French musket

Lot # 7 (Sale Order: 7 of 424)      

Revolutionary War era French Charleville model 1763 musket, .69 caliber, having a walnut stock with sawtooth carved border, the right side of the butt stock inscribed PRS 1783 and TS on opposing side, the lock inscribed Charleville, the side plate with punched inscription 1779 P. Starr, 44 1/2" barrel. Condition: Overall good condition, crack at upper tang to rear lock tang with an old repair, another crack from forward lock 6" to barrel with old repair, missing middle barrel band, incorrect ramrod, some losses to stock where it meets the barrel on right side, illegible proof on barrel at breech, lock functions correctly.

Condition: Overall good condition, refinished stock, trigger guard does not fit tightly, missing lower sling swivel, numerous dents in barrel, lock functions correctly. Restocked.

Henry Deringer, Philadelphia model 1817 rifle

Lot # 9 (Sale Order: 9 of 424)      

Henry Deringer, Philadelphia model 1817 common rifle, approximately .60 caliber, converted to percussion, with iron oval patchbox, the lock inscribed US H. Deringer Philada 1827, the barrel tang inscribed 1827, the barrel inscribed LS US P CONd G Hay IB ??? 4th D. George Hay was a member of 8th Co., 5th battalion, Philadelphia militia, and later commissioned to 2nd Lieut. in the 2nd Company, 1st Reg. in the York County Militia in 1794 and Col. of the 94th Reg.of the Pennsylvania militia in 1814, walnut stock with cartouche and sling swivels, US marked butt plate, 36" barrel. Condition: Good overall condition as converted, all metal turning grey, stocks show normal handling marks, 2" loss between lock and upper tang. Two small cracks at upper tang, loss forward of side plate.

Allison, the lock inscribed Ellis, the stock with squiggle carved bands flanking the ramrod channel, 42 1/2" octagonal barrel. Condition: Overall very good condition, 5" x 1/2" repair to left forend, crack at lower thimble through and through with an old repair, butt plate is loose, barrel has been blued, set trigger mechanism is not working.

Thomas Douglass flintlock long rifle

Lot # 24 (Sale Order: 24 of 424)      

Fine Thomas Douglass (Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania), full stock flintlock long rifle, approximately .44 caliber, having a tiger maple stock with twenty-seven German silver geometric inlays, engraved brass three-piece patch box, with brass trigger guard, crescent butt plate and nose cap, the barrel inscribed T. Douglass within a rectangle, having three areas of foliate scroll engraving including the muzzle, the lock inscribed London Warranted, set triggers, 39" octagonal barrel. The rifle has an early hand-written ink tag stating that this rifle was made for and belonged to Gen. Sam Harrod, a large land owner and used in the Indian days... So. Solon Ohio. General Harrod was a Brigadier General from Clark County, Ohio in the War of 1812. Condition: Overall excellent condition, with great patina and surface, hairline crack from nose cap back to first inlay, lock does not stay cocked.

Douglass, the lock with illegible stamp, 36" heavy octagonal barrel. Condition: Good overall condition, set triggers not functioning, some pitting near bolster, barrel turning brown, crack through the toe, 1/2" chip on left butt stock.
